Decided to show a few paintings (commissions and gifts) that couldn't be posted before Christmas. For January, spending a little time painting a bedroom, and some furniture, bookkeeping, then back to the easel! Happy New Year to all and "Bring it on 2021"

WELCOME Sterling & Noelle to The Dogz Lodge Family. We will have a lot of fun watching Sterling grow into his Great Dane adult body, Noelle is just a little cuddle bug. Thank you Liana Duplisea @ Liana's Pet Services for this wonderful referral. We will take good care of them.

These 3 Great Pyrenees boys were found with their alpaca herd covered in soot and with singed fur. Their home was gone, but they kept their herd of 30 alpacas s...afe! The alpacas are being cared for at a local farm where we’ve been able to supply them and others hay thanks to YOUR donations and these sweet boys were reunited with their thankful owners. Here they are resting at the local vet getting checked out after their ordeal. Tired and dirty but otherwise okay. Heroes! See more

Now that it’s getting dark out so early, it’s super important to make sure you and your dog are safe and visible going for walks. Your usual after work stroll a...round the block, is likely now going to be in darkness. So staying visible is very important for the safety of you and your pets! Here’s some of my favourite ways to stay visible that are also very affordable! 1. LIGHT UP COLLARS and LIGHT UP COLLAR CLIPS. I clip one of these on most of my night walk dogs, and also on Ernest whenever it’s dusk or dark out (even just in the yard for pee breaks). And guess what?! You can usually find them at Dollarama for about $3-4 (I believe the clips are $3 and the collars are $4) and they are rechargeable! They also have 3 settings, fast flash, slow flash, and solid light. I always recommend a flash setting as it is much more visible. 2. LIGHT UP LEASH. I just got this one and absolutely love it. It has two light up sections that can be set to different settings, so you can have one on flash and one on solid if you prefer. Again this one is fully rechargeable too. This one is a 6 foot leash, but you can also find in 4 foot. There are tons of options on Amazon and most local pet stores carry these. Depending on length you’d be looking to spend approximately $20-40. 3. BRIGHT COLOURS. Getting your dog a bright coloured coat and scarf or bandana like Monty is wearing is such a smart idea. It helps keep them very visible as well. And always avoid wearing black and dark colours when walking at night. 4. REFLECTIVE STRIPS/ VEST. I got a typical construction vest to throw over my coat. Again you can find these usually for around $15 or so. 5. GENERAL SAFETY RULES. Walk the opposite of oncoming traffic, cross in crosswalks, try and stay in well lit areas when possible. Stay safe out there my friends!
