KAMA SUTRA CHAI Small 30 gram bag $5.00 (10-12 cups) Large 75 gram bag $10.00 (25-30 cups)... INFORMATION: Ancient Indian tradition maintains that the Kama Sutra was written by Maharishi Vatsyayana. Vatsyayana is believed to have lived in India sometime between the 1st and 6th centuries AD during what is known as the Gupta period, a time of great cultural and artistic growth. The Kama Sutra is literally a book on the science of love - Kama translates as desire, and Sutra means a technical manual. The ancient treatise depicts positions for uhm, "marital enjoyment" with names like "the Cobra", and "Tigress" - it is a very spicy text. So it may surprise you to learn that tradition also maintains that Mharishi Vatsyayana was a celibate monk. How he got it in his head to describe some of the sultriest, sexiest, physically challenging, stimulating, and creative ways for couples to "enjoy" themselves is a mystery that has long been lost to the mists of time. (We thought we'd give you something to ponder while you sipped this stunning Indian chai.) In the spirit of sensuousness and discovery offered by Vatsyayana's ancient text we offer this fabulous tea - a real mélange a spice. A true Indian style chai, this blend is based on good strong Indian and Kenyan teas blended with an ancient spice recipe almost as old as the Kama Sutra itself. The taste is heavenly - ginger and cardamom intermingle with cinnamon, cloves and hints of black pepper. The full-bodied cup is rounded out with floral notes that tempt the taste buds and will have you crying out for more. Brew a pot today and raise a cup to the science of love. (And don't blame us if it raises a few other things too!) CUP CHARACTERISTICS: Penetrating depth with a full flavored cup exuding sensuous floral and saucy spice notes. A tea for memories! BOURBON STREET VANILLA ROOIBOS Small 30 gram bag $5.00 (10-12 cups) Large 75 gram bag $10.00 (25-30 cups)... INFORMATION: Is there any other street in the United States that conjures up as many exotic images as does Bourbon Street in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter? From Voodoo to Jazz and Burlesque to Mardi Gras, Bourbon is the street where anything can, and does, happen. (Don't believe it? Pick up a copy of "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole - considered by some to be the most accurate depiction of the French Quarter ever written. And it's hilarious!) Or if you prefer, take a trip to New Orleans and experience the street for yourself. It was during one such visit that our Master Taster came up with the idea for this blend. While perusing the shops of the French Quarter one evening, he caught a whiff of toasty Vanilla drifting from an alley. The smell was so hypnotizing he felt compelled to follow it and soon discovered that it was coming from a small makeshift voodoo shrine someone had constructed. He decided to capture the enticing character he had experienced and blend it with pure, caffeine free, South African Rooibos to reflect the African roots of the voodoo he had stumbled across. The result is an exceptionally smooth herbal tea with mysterious character and subtle notes of fresh vanilla. Enjoy a cup today. (Or we'll turn you into a goat!) CUP CHARACTERISTICS: Fruity with sweet notes. Vanilla flavoring gives the rooibos a wonderful exotic jazzy depth. INGREDIENTS: Rooibos, Almond pieces, Calendula petals, Natural flavors (Organic Compliant). INGREDIENTS FROM: South Africa / Canada / Egypt REGION(S): Cederberg / Ontario / Nile River Delta + Fayoum GROWING ALTITUDES: 1500 - 2500 feet above sea level GRADE(S): Choice Grade #1 MANUFACTURE TYPE(S): Traditional process, Rolled and fermented ANTIOXIDANT LEVEL: Medium CAFFEINE LEVEL: None - Caffeine Free Herb KOSHER: Yes VEGETARIAN: Yes VEGAN: Yes ARTISANAL NOTES: Small batch blended and packed in Ontario INFUSION: Reddish orange to full color
