DIY Party Bunting Box inspired by a class I run. Go take a peek & support a great cause. Amy Carver is a SURVIVOR and is fundraising for The Lodge That Gives, Canadian Cancer Society Atlantic. Big thanks to Amy for running this fundraiser and welcoming one of my pieces.
Small Business Week 2020 Tell me your favorite local things. Art, music, food, business, adventure, builders, makers, shakers...... What am I missing?!
I fell in love with what this old sunroom could be when we bought the house. I was sold even when the windows were rickety and not near enough of them. The first coat of varnish on the hardwood is drying today. Still, the decades of wear will show through and I'm not shook. ... The renovations take a little longer, the babies grow a little older, but the time is oh, so sweet. Moving into the studio next week
When asking your seamstress to alter your wedding gown, you may want to consider what you will do with your gown after the wedding. Are you going to save your gown for a keepsake, or, do you plan to re-sell? If selling your gown is in the back of your mind, let your seamstress know, and, where possible they can tailor the job in a way that allows the gown to be easily restored to the original measurements.... This means that the buyer literally has more wiggle room to get their perfect fit, and, you aren't limiting the re-sale only to buyers who have your very specific measurements. Are you a sentimentalist? Did you keep or sell your gown? And, how have you stored or displayed it?
Welcome to my final alteration. I have been honored to share in so many of your special moments and I want to thank you all again. Workroom renovations are coming to a close and I'm so ready to share what's been stirring up over here with my own designs
With back to school nearing, I've been spending some time patterning and fitting to try to make mask wearing as comfortable as possible for my children. Their feedback was solid and the pattern stood up to handstands and treehouse climbing. If anyone would like the pattern, comment below or DM. ... Oh! The Sydney Fabricville has a great selection of colored elastic too!
Love to @haileystormm_ @mercerie.herbes for bringing The Big Bunny to life. Queen of all trades & I can't wait to work with her again.
Masks are the new black. But, make it fashion. Fabric choice à la mes petits bèbès.

RE-OPENING NEWS! I am shifting from mending & repairs into sewing my own work full-time! This means I will no longer be offering alteration services.... It has been my absolute pleasure working with all of you and I hope to see some familiar faces in my sewing classes. There are many talented, local seamstresses, and I am happy to point you in a good direction. Also, don't be scared to try your hand at a project! Reach out if you have any questions or need advice. I'm always willing to share any tricks I might have to help you along the way. Thank you for trusting me with your treasured pieces, too long pants & missing buttoned cardigans. I'll share more in upcoming posts. This is the dream, guys.
Big thanks to CBRL for our seeds! FYI gardening totally counts as homeschooling
"Once I had a child She was smiling like sunshine She could see it all Like she had been here before."... Happy International Women's Day
Lola Pear en route for a Storm Timbit, wearing her custom jacket. Big thanks to Holly for sharing Lola's adventures
Renovations have me feeling like HGTV DIY over here. I'm often found, mug of tea in hand, wide eyed. These will be my "Remember when's", so, as messy and not fast as these days seem, I am present and here for the process. And, the cool thing about hanging your own walls, is that you can hide a little treasure inside - for luck and for the future. I am so thankful to you all for being here and present for me. For everything a season, so, here's to this one!
The Floral Rabbit's namesake, Lola Rabbit rang in #6 with her dream Glowga party. Strawberry shortcake was on the menu & the energy her friends surrounded her with was beautiful. Yellow Dog Studio made this entire evening her dream come true. What a magical start to her new year around the sun. Her friends left with a special stone and pouch from Sage Moon Boutique. It takes a village, and I am so lucky to be a part of this one. Thank you!
