"Whose side is the United States to take in this fight? Should it take the side of Iraq or Kurdistan? On the one hand, it usurped the illegitimate rule of a psychopathic, genocidal, dictator, plunging Iraq into depravity and decay. (Which my detractors will suggest was the result of the intervention). On the other hand, the coalition intervention propped up the regime of Masoud Barzani and the Kurdish government in northern Iraq. In present day, Venezuela is a country that is being ripped apart by a shortage of goods. The result has been hyperinflation, with the prices of food, medicine, and other products increasing by over 800%."

"Only after the ballots were counted did many Remainers begin to contemplate the tangible effects Brexit could have: reduced freedom of movement, legitimization of xenophobia, and undermined diplomatic relations between the UK and EU member states. We also must consider the effect of Brexit on research. Not only does the EU fund million-pound research projects but Europe, along with rest of the world, provides the most valuable resource for science: great minds."
