After quenching in oil, it "file tested" hard and gave it a little clean up with the angle grinder to see that steel. Made from half of a bearing race from farm machinery.
Knife in progress.
Forge scale jumping off the steel and making a bit of music!
The sleigh rack went a few spots down on the priorities list but it did fit up nicely and is ready for the wooden decking!
A few more hooks today!
Well it's been a crazy few weeks... Feeding the horses takes me to the barn daily (it's quite close to home) so I might as well make some beam hooks while I'm there!
The next project is a rack for the back of the sleigh to make it easier to access and remove the battery for charging. The battery runs both the lights and the hydraulic wheel system!
After many hours of grinding and filing and measuring, I finally finished the repair to the sleigh wheels.
Thanks again to SPIN for this wonderful piece!
New sign for some Village advertising!
Making a bit of a repair to the hydraulic wheel system of Sun Peaks Stables' sleigh. Maintaining the sleighs is an art too! I don't find many sleigh parts on the shelves at the store.
Dog and cat paw brands.
My first railroad spike knife (not for sale) cut the leather for the sheath.
