The Friendly Visitor 19.11.2020

Letting go is one of the best life lessons a person can learn. Letting go of obligation, letting go of guilt, letting go of self-hatred, letting go of our need for things and people to complete us.

The Friendly Visitor 06.11.2020

Greetings friends and followers! Let me begin by saying a huge thank you to all of you for following along on my journey, supporting my business, and allowing me to come alongside your families to offer the quality care and advocacy they deserve. This business was a dream of mine for many years and I am really proud of myself for making it a reality. It has been a long road of learning and stretching but I am a better person for having walked it. As my 5th year in business c...omes to a close, I am coming to grips with the old adage that all good things must come to an end. My announcement comes after much thought and discussion with my clients - for whom I am ever so grateful. I will officially be winding down the activities of The Friendly Visitor over the coming weeks. As of October 1st I will only be offering online companionship and coaching through a secondary endeavor called The Hidden Hurt Blog (hiddenhurtblog.com). This online space will offer a weekly dose of encouragement as well as personal stories and experiences from both myself and guest writers. More people than ever before are battling hidden hurts of all kinds - invisible physical illness, mental illness, and even just loneliness. The world we have created for ourselves is one of comparison, cruelty, and criminal behaviour. We can’t do much to undo the damage that has been done up until this point, but from this moment forward we can pledge to live differently and do our best to stop contributing to the negativity around us. What’s more, I would like to suggest that it IS possible for every one of us, in our own little corner of the world, to better the life of SOMEONE around us. It is that premise upon which I built The Friendly Visitor. Looking forward now, the blog space will be my focus for a broader interaction, reaching more isolated people on a global scale than I could ever think to reach locally. As I transition my business to an online platform, I hope you will join me at my new Facebook page and Twitter account as well. Through these social media spaces, I will share snippets from the blog as well as encouraging memes, uplifting quotes, empowering stories, and real-life shared experience that validates the raw struggle of humanity. Please keep your eyes peeled for links and new posts from The Hidden Hurt Blog in the coming weeks. I will keep this Facebook space open for a little while longer, but will delete the page in one month’s time. See you on the other side!

Sad state of affairs in Ontario. And the more we cut social services the more these families will suffer.
