City wide week of prayer, day four: Together, we lift our voices to God for social justice. ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these. Mark 12:30-31... Please pray... - That people would live in right relationship with God and others and love all people as image-bearers of God, without prejudice or bias. - That all people in our city including the disadvantaged are consulted and included in decisions affecting them. - That justice and mercy would be impartially rendered. - That we would as a city consider how we care for the least of these and seek God’s strength and provision to help where help is needed. - For access to good health care for every person. And the King answering, will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:40

Covid has raised lots of questions about a lot of different things - Church included. Some have wondered, Is the church an ‘essential service’ or not? What’s the purpose of the church anyway? Is it just about meeting on Sundays for worship, or is there more to it than that? And Is it even possible for the church to ‘be the church’ when its not even meeting in-person? How does the Bible define church? Join us on Sunday mornings from Jan 24-Feb 14 as we we explore que...stions about the church and how the Bible defines church. City wide week of prayer, day three: together we lift our voices to God for families. "Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." Colossians 3:14... Please pray... - That God will strengthen families and deepen bonds of love, especially in this stressful time. - For solace for worried and grieving families whose elderly loved-ones are dying alone in long-term care homes and hospitals during the pandemic lock-down. - For mental and emotional stability in households under the COVID-19 restrictions. - For strong marriages. - For the special needs of single parents and their children. - For children in foster care and their foster parents. - That churches and other groups will reach out to include and care for singles, widows and widowers, and the lonely. "And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." Ephesians 5:21

City wide week of prayer, day two: together, we lift our voices to God for our workplaces. "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Colossians 3:23... Please pray... - That believers will share the love of Christ in their workplaces in word and deed. - For protection against the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. - For God to help employers and employees faced with possible shutdowns and job loss because of the COVID-19 virus. - That businesses will prosper in our city in the coming year. - For freedom to express our faith in federal government departments. - For a good working environment for managers and employees in federal, provincial and municipal departments. - That all employers will be fair and generous in their treatment of their employees, particularly those facing job uncertainty. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and he will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:5-6.
