It’s time to start thinking about ordering your fall or winter wreath I can make any sort of custom wreath for you...dried, artificial, full, partial, indoor, outdoor...you name it! Each wreath is unique as I do not make two the same. Turn around time for custom wreaths is about 2 weeks! Spice up your doorway

A memory popped up yesterday, reminding me that this little creature came into my life a year ago. He was a neighbour’s cat who wasn’t getting a lot of love. He’s now the king of derby square, can come and go whenever he pleases and loves helping me when I create. I’m so so thankful for @omalleythehotdogalleycat

Friendly reminder!! In order to enjoy your florals for as long as possible, make sure to do these things; change the water daily cut stems about a quarter inch daily keep florals out of sunlight/away from heat sources...try to keep your florals as cool as possible keep florals away from smoke or fruits, as they reduce vase life drastically... say nice things to them (it can’t hurt, right? ) See more

How to propagate little babes from a large Pilea plant. So, so easy. I highly recommend the Pilea plant to new plant owners as it’s so rewarding and very easy to care for! Water about once a week, let dry between waterings, and place in indirect sunlight. I have mine in a North facing window, and it is thriving. BONUS - give these babies away to friends!! Your friends will love you for it and it’s also a fun reminder of your friendship

It’s been one whole year since this studio came into my life . The process of me getting this space was so serendipitous. I am so grateful to make beautiful things for other people to enjoy, and to have the means to do it. I’m not sure what I would do with all of my creative energy if I didn’t have my studio! My creative energy and emotional energy go hand in hand. And right now, life seems heavy. The world is a difficult place and I am a VERY empathetic person. I take on o...thers’ feelings, which can be a total blessing and a curse. I find that I can create with more depth because of my ability to feel emotions so deeply. So just know that if I’ve ever made you anything, or will in the future, my WHOLE heart goes into the process! I’ve had some personal/business setbacks, which is the reason why I haven’t been having my regular floral pop-ups. I miss them SO much, but I am working towards getting the proper licensing and the proper set up (a fully functioning/reliable floral cooler)! These 2 key elements will open the doors for me to make TGHFB a legitimate business. With that will bring; set hours of operation, weekly and bi-weekly floral subscriptions, workshops, one on one teaching, and florals available all the time . Fingers crossed this will take place before next Spring! I know that the only cure to how I have been feeling is to make myself and others’ happy. Creating with florals is a way for me to do both of these things simultaneously!! I’m so thankful for all of the support I’ve already had from our amazing Crystal Beach community. We have such a unique vibe here and I’m just so grateful for the people that make it a reality. Keep spreading joy, keep supporting local, keep being friendly and keep your head up! Days like today are a great reminder that we’re on the right path. Happy one year little shop

This week has felt very heavy. The death of George Floyd is so tragic and unbelievably sad. We live in a wild world where humans have a hard time seeing another human’s importance. Being a white person, I feel that I have a huge responsibility to go above and beyond for the POC in my life. Let me prove to you that I am trustworthy and let me show you love. We need to be honest with ourselves and have a look inside. Can you accept that you may be wrong? Can you LISTEN to our b...lack neighbours? Will you educate yourself on black injustice? I sure hope so, because if not, things will never change. I’ve lived in a small, predominantly white community all my life. I went to an international high school and lived on dorm with mostly Korean and Nigerian girls. This experience was important, life changing and so much fun. Embracing someone who looks different and has a different culture than you is a step in life that you SHOULD NOT skip!!! I am so thankful for the POC in my life. And I am so sorry that they don’t get the respect they are worthy of. Everyone in this life has a purpose. When we see friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and strangers who aren’t being given equal (basic human) rights, we need to do SOMETHING. If you can help in anyway, you best do so. If you see injustice YOU need to stand up because #blacklivesmatter This is a tribute piece for George Floyd, Sean Reed, Ahmaud Arbery, Steven Demarco Taylor, Ariane McCree, Terrance Franklin, Miles Hall, William Green, Antwon Rose, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, Jamee Johnson, and so many other beautiful black humans who didn’t deserve to die based on their melanin. May you rest easy and never be forgotten. Dandelions...because life is fragile. My most beautiful brown vase & yellow flowers and foliage because yellow represents loyalty, remembrance and optimism.

Mother’s Day Flowers Get your mom a bouquet of colourful, uplifting flowers this year. I will have a floral pop-up on May 9th & 10th! If you want to guarantee that you get a bouquet for your mama, send me a message! I will be taking custom order up until May 7th. If you order a custom bouquet we will discuss a pickup day and time. I will have a bucket outside with your name attached so you know which florals belong to you! I will have grab & go bouquets, posies and house...plants available at the pop-up. There will be fresh florals and dried florals available. Prices range anywhere from $5 to $50, so there will be a great selection to choose from. This arrangement was from Mother’s Day of 2018 when I was working for The Tulip Tree in Ridgeway. This was my first ever Mother’s Day in a floral shop and I think it’s exactly when I fell in love with the idea of having my own shop some day. Now look where we are!!! See more

I figured it was time to show the human behind The Green House Floral Bar! I typically prefer to just show photos of flowers and my studio, but this photo is special to me. This photo is from a Self Love Meditation Workshop that I had the privilege of being a part of at the beginning of March. @gentlybeingmindfulness and @ladyluckphotographystudio worked their magic to bring a room full of strangers together. We talked openly about the ups and downs we experience with sel...f love. It was so refreshing to be transparent with other like-minded people. We did a meditation guided by Kim focusing on having love, compassion and patience for ourselves. After that, Jennifer took our photos. I am normally uncomfortable in front of a camera but Jennifer made it so easy. These ladies are so gifted at what they do!! It was one of the best days I’ve had in a very long time. Being in a room full of people talking about feelings, love and encouragement is literally all I want and need right now!! (I’m a Cancer and an Enneagram type 2, can you tell???) I think the timing of this workshop was no coincidence, it was my form of preparation for everything happening in the world right now. More than ever we need to be easy on ourselves and our hearts Bloom where you are planted

Local tulips and daffodils from @feederflowerfarm and some local springtime fillers from Vineland More than ever, it’s important to support local flower farmers. Hung up some beautiful artwork today from my friend Gary Insalaco. He’s a local to Crystal Beach and one of the most genuine humans I know. Him and I both love Mr. Rogers and I think it shows lol. Which leads me to this...Have you noticed that your neighbours are becoming more influential in your life throughout this quarantine? I think if there’s one good thing (although, I think there are many) we can take away from this uncertain time is that the people in your community a...re important. It’s so important to be kind, understanding and patient. Everyone is just trying their best! I’ve seen some amazing moments through my studio window. Parents teaching their kids how to ride bikes, couples walking puppies, and genuine kindness as people pass by. It makes me incredibly happy to be a part of our community. When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping. - Fred Rogers
