If there's one thing every trainer knows, it's that most of us have been making the same resolution for the last decade. ... But I'm not saying "don't set goals!" The opposite. If you're going to set a goal for 2021, I want you to crush it, my friend. God knows we need some successes this year. These 15 suggestions are DOABLE, non-diet, self-care habits that can help you build physical & mental health in a way that spirals out to create a better life instead of restricting & punishing you. Save this post for inspo! In 2021, instead of attempting to overhaul your entire life, try this.It works. Promise. 1 Close your eyes & visualize who you want to be one year from now. Try it now. Imagine December 2021. Where are you? What do you feel like? What do you do less of? More of? 2 Then, begin teasing out the incredible aspects of your Future Me that you can actually work on. Like, starting now! Make a list of actions you can really imagine yourself doing. Some might be one-off tasks. Others might be daily or weekly tasks. > This is where you can get targeted. Want to have better posture & less back pain in a year? Maybe your first few tasks are a weekly strength class, 5 minutes of stretching before bed & booking a physio assessment you've been putting off. 3 Then pick JUST 1 daily or weekly habit to really focus on. (You can also schedule some one-off tasks like making that appointment, but try to work on just one daily habit at a time. Trust me.) Write it into your daybook, commit on social media, program it into your iCal. Keep that precious new habit front of mind. Then simply practice that one habit. Nothing else.
