These last few days have been an absolute blur, and I mean that in the best way possible. We’ve been learning so much in such a small amount of time and in no way has it all been easy, however, it’s been extremely fulfilling. . . As I stare down at this little human we created, I find myself completely infatuated and amazed with how this all came to be. I grew a human from scratch! .... . I’m shocked by how many social pressures there are surrounding postpartum body image. Because how can such a perfect representation of pure nature at work become belittled by the appearance of a woman’s body after all that work she put in?! No one ever judges a painter for having a splattered smock after producing a work of art, so what makes this any different? As I adjust to my new body, and my kick-ass battle scar, I hope to remind you to consider the work that went into this 10 month little masterpiece of ours, and think twice about the comment you make to any woman about her appearance, during any stage of pregnancy. . .
