One more week to go for Frontline Monologue submissions. Know anyone who would be interested? Please help share the word.

It is impossible to explain how grateful we are to those who put their lives on the line to help others. Physicians, dentists, grocers, therapists, couriers, journalists, nurses, drivers, patient care assistants, cashiers, police officers, teachers, firefighters and the hundreds of other #FrontlineWorkers step on this suspended line every day trying to stay balanced as they face their fears with optimism and courage. As performers, we would like to show them our support by at...tempting to understand, share and most importantly amplify their sentiments and voices through Frontline Monologues - a series of theatrical anecdotes that narrate the emotions of those who put their lives on the line as they feel tragic, uncertain, tired, funny, privileged, scared, angry, impatient, hopeful, proud but most certainly brave. We would like to invite actors of all experiences and backgrounds worldwide to submit a self-recorded English monologue not exceeding 99 seconds on or before 24th May 2020 to show their solidarity with their craft. The monologue should end with the theme line "I hope this ends soon, but if it doesnt, I am here to take care of you. Writers who wish to show support and also see their monologues performed by actors are welcome to submit them. Those interested are requested to connect with us via a private message or write to us on [email protected] to receive the guidelines for submission. Let do this! Jimish Thakkar, Darshana Thakkar

Let's accept it, attending a drama workshop or rehearsal online may be the need of the hour, but its nothing like the in-person experience! Its not! It is difficult and (on most occasions) impossible to project your voice, practise effecting breathing, get into character and work on your gestures if you have to lap up your device, slouching on the sofa or lying on the bed. And oh, try working on your hand gestures and movements while being tied to your device with your wired ...headphones. Postural (bad) habits can narrow an actor's range and can inhibit their physical possibilities as a performer. Take a moment to help your child create an online learning experience thats productive, rewarding and, well, worth working for with these simple but effective 3 STEP approach as advised by our Artistic Director and Drama Educator Jimish Thakkar, after experiencing the early challenges (and annoyance) of teaching drama online.
