Our resident craft and DIY queen, there's never a problem Winnie can't solve. From helping kids with their sensory needs, self care skills, and fine motor goals, to fixing things around the clinic, she really can do it all! Winnie never stops learning - last year she gained 4 speciality certifications. Through creativity and imagination, Winnie is always taking kids on an adventure while making sure they're getting top notch therapy! Today we celebrate you Winnie!

We had some fun making our Hive masks! Some tips when wearing cloth masks: wash after each use and don’t touch the front of your mask while wearing it. At the Hive we wear single use medical masks during the day, and switch to these fun ones at night!

Our third instalment of Wonderful Wednesday at The Hive, Skills and Thrills: A Talent Show, was our most unique event yet! The event gave the kiddos a wonderful way to showcase their talents while working on their social and communication skills and building confidence. Back again for our second Wonderful Wednesday at The Hive, and it was just as much fun as our first! This weeks event was The Hive Olympics, a series of 10 stations with a therapy twist! With these stations, the kids worked on: Fine and gross motor skills visual-motor integration... coordination and balance body awareness motor planning and praxis ...to name a few! Important Update to all The Hive families - the situation with #covid_19 is changing so rapidly. We feel so strongly about our social responsibility to protect our patients (especially our most vulnerable populations), their families and the members of our team. Effective March 17th, we will be closing The Hive until further notice. . We will be moving to temporary virtual care for all patients who this is possible for. We will do our darnedest to make sure our kiddos meet t...heir therapy goals during this mini-break. . As a small business owner and mom to 2 little ones, making this decision to close up shop was not taken lightly. Coronavirus update - we are still open as usual! We want to reassure everyone that we are health care professionals first, and as such we are continuously monitoring updates from the WHO and Toronto Public Health regarding recommendations and acting accordingly. We have stepped up our already stringent cleaning and sanitization methods with our clinical grade products. Hand sanitizing products and hand washing areas are readily available and accessible. We highly encour...age you use them before, during and after all visits to The Hive. We will be removing all the toys from the waiting room until further notice to avoid the risk of cross contamination. Until school reopens on April 6th we will be waiving late cancelation fees. As we enter 2020, the only thing that feels appropriate to say is thank you! Thank you to The Hive families for trusting in what we’re building. Thank you to those families that banded together during my short mat leave to ensure the choir ran smoothly. Thank you to those parents that happily held my baby during therapy sessions and said you took care of our baby and now we’d love to do the same for you. Thank you to the moms and dads that brought extra bassinets and cribs ...just so that I could make being here with an infant possible. . It’s no secret that 2019 was challenging; giving birth to my second kiddo while raising a toddler and running a business has been no joke. But with the support of the community that we’ve created at The Hive, we were able to have our best year yet! I’m so proud of the strides we made this year at The Hive and can't wait to do 2020 together! . We aren’t just physio or OT, we are SO much more than that.
