If you bring a refillable water bottle at gym, at work, at the mall, or just even at home , you can minimize the use of plastic bottles that you will throw away, anyway. . . . .... . . . . . #reduceplasticwaste #plasticfreeforthesea #plasticfreeoceans #plasticfreelife #lessplasticwaste #stopusingplastic #environmentallyconscious #lowwasteliving #sustainablefuture #goingzerowaste #plasticpollutes #saynotosingleuseplastic #endplasticpollution #plasticsucks #lessplastic #savetheocean #saynotoplastic #noplanetb #noplastic #savetheenvironment See more

This Greek island = Heaven on Earth? Paros is working to become the first ever plastic-free utopia, and it's got 3 years to do it! The island is banning plastic straws, giving school kids reusable water bottles, and turning used bedsheets into reusable shopping bags! They're not messing around either. 50 out of 70 businesses on the island have committed to cutting plastic so far, with the remaining ones expected to join in. Paros was chosen by nonprofit @commonseas because of... its small size, easy monitorability and popularity with tourists, making it a perfect first case study that can be applied to larger cities worldwide! We're rooting for you, Paros! . . Reposted from @get.waste.ed --- Massive amounts of water wasted... to produce water?!? Do you hydrate with a reusable bottle or are you part of the problem? A million plastic water bottles are still sold every MINUTE around the world, but plastic isn't the only issue! Tons of water is wasted to produce plastic and a whole variety of the things we buy, from clothing to smartphones. But no product's water footprint looks more f*cking ridiculous than the water wasted to prod...uce bottled water! It takes 3 liters of water to produce just 1 bottle when you include what you'll drink and what's used for production. It's a staggering amount and entirely inefficient especially when you consider the risk of plastic piling up in landfills for hundreds of years and putting wildlife at risk. By using a reusable water bottle, you save 1,460 plastic bottles every year that could otherwise end up in a landfill or our oceans harming marine life. It's an easy change that makes a seriously big impact! . .
