Old or New? We have quickly fallen in love with our NEW rustic farmhouse collection. Our client wanted us to achieve a very distressed vintage look for this piece. We used several different variations of stain to create contrast in the knotty pine. Then we had some fun with hammers, nails, chains, and sanders to age this collection. It’s a strange feeling to polish out a new build and then beat it up. I felt a bit distressed when I was distressing, but we LOVE the final outcome! We are tempted to build this collection for our own home. This table will soon depart to our clients country property in Smithers. I would love to give this collection a name. Can you suggest a name in the comments? And if you had a choice would you like a piece to look old or new?

Out of Service! Today my husband and I are leaving for a hiking adventure in northern British Columbia. We are excited to go off the grid and spend time together as a couple. Our kids have been counting down the days until Grandma arrived with her bag of treats! I won’t be responding to DM’s until after August 16. Orders will resume at this time. Take care!

The Valley Collection Our newest collection is leaving the shop for the Bulkley Valley. A place that holds a very special place in our hearts. It’s where we started our little family and met some of the best people we know. It was a pleasure to work and live in such a picturesque and community minded area. Happy Monday! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. My husband and I were excited to escape for a hike yesterday. It’s so nice to have a few uninterrupted moments together. We are training for a week long adventure in the mountains. Introducing a new coffee table design that I completed a few weeks ago. Adam quickly claimed this one for our basement. Next time, I would build this design larger scale. I love the flagstone stain and satin finish by @varathane. ... @kvdphotography

Leaving the Shop! These elegant maple end tables have joined a coffee table we finished for a client a few months ago. We love the clean lines of this design. This piece is finished in a soft white semi-gloss and a white linen stain.

Hanging Round! We have been practising round cuts with our new jig, so fun! We made a round outdoor table to celebrate the beautiful spring weather. The sunshine this week has felt so incredible!

Happy Sunday! Today’s plans include yard work and sanding out a new table design. Dining tables are my absolute favourite project to build. Although, I have recently discovered I am allergic to certain species of wood. Sanding is now followed by serious congestion and allergy medication, but the end result is totally worth it. What would your dream dining table look like?... This custom maple dining table was designed for a client in Telkwa, BC.

Stay tuned for this classic table design with a modern twist! This design continues to be a favourite for our clients. It felt so good to work in a warm shop this week. I love having the shop doors open so I can feel the spring breeze and watch the kids biking. Have you set up your patio furniture?
