Quality lasts a lifetime! My friends dad brought this beautiful old Franchi into the field. The 48 AL 12-gauge semi-automatic was a milestone in Franchi’s history. Made in 1951 It was the lightest semi automatic shotgun in the world, a distinction it maintained for many years. it weighed just 6 lbs and held five rounds in the magazine. Production began in the 1950s.... In 1973, Franchi produced a million of 48 ALs and the firearm had already received the Golden Compass in 1954, the most prestigious global award for design.
