Sometimes emotions feels as though they are uncontrollable - they come sweeping into our bodies hard and fast and therefore, our reactions sometimes might not align with our "normal" selves. Meeting each emotion with compassion, curiosity, and care is important. They want to be heard, listened to and cared for regardless of how uncomfortable they might feel. When we can do this for ourselves we can begin others to take that responsibility as well.

Well wow - what a year 2020 turned out to be! What did this year bring you? What are you taking and what are you leaving behind? ... The world does this really strange thing when it continues to move on regardless of the pain, suffering, fear, and grief. It continues to spin on every single day. Here we are on the eve of another new year - even if there were moments, days, weeks, or months of this year that felt like everything in your life stopped, crumbled, crashed, or exploded. There is hope in the movement. One of the only things this world can guarantee us is change. Whether or not you care for that little 1 that will dangle now instead of the 0 at the end of the year, it is new and it is different. That makes it important and valid. Change is inevitable. With change comes hope and with hope there is potential. If you are heading out to celebrate this new year, working, staying home and treating it like any other day, or anything else you might be up to - stay safe

For all of the beautiful folks out there living with chronic illness, the holidays can create immense pressure. Obligations, family, being joyful, participating in events, and so many more expectations can feel relentless on both the body and the mind. This holiday we are thinking of you and holding you in our hearts. If you are unable to attend celebrations with family and friends because you are sick, we are holding you in our hearts. If you power through the debilitating ...symptoms to show up for friends and family, we are holding you in our hearts. If you are feeling good and want to show up to celebrations knowing you might pay tremendously in the end, we are holding you in our hearts. We see you all and know that while you do not need permission, we are helping to create a space for you to ask for what you need and let others know what is too much right now. The holidays can be hard - we see you. See more

Grief will look and feel so differently for everyone who has lost a loved one. If you are experiencing grief this holiday season please know that you are not alone. Your needs are valid, your experience is valid, and every single range of emotion is valid. Forcing yourself to participate in this holiday as if it is the same as all the others is not necessary. It will be different because it is different. Create space to check in on yourself and navigate this time of year with as much compassion as you need. We are sending you so much love
