As many of you probably know, The Journey has been funded by United Way since the day we opened our doors. Their support has been fundamental to our success. And, it is important to note that their support hasn't just been financial. When the tragic fire hit on our street and 18 families were left homeless, United Way was there with us on the ground not only lending us financial support, but supplying a desperately needed staff member, advice and connections with other age...ncies to assist us in helping those families. United Way Greater Toronto is in the midst of their annual fundraising campaign and we would encourage you to support United Way, not just because they support us, but because they support so many fine agencies and organizations who are doing vital on the ground work for so many communities like the one we serve. https://www.unitedwaygt.org/donate

Advent Week 1 - Hope If you would prefer to watch this rather then read this: https://youtu.be/8Ykij7Y0Wdc This is the first week of a four-part Advent series. Many years ago I travelled to Brazil to shoot a video on street kids. When I came back I was asked to speak at a church about my experience, so I told them about the boys who were beaten up, the girls who are not on the street, because they have to prostitute themselves to eat and of the group of people living under a bridge and bathing and cooking in water that was running off of a garbage dump. This is the last video in this series on Unsung heroes. If there is one theme that defines the entire series, it is service. Jesus said time and time again that that we should serve one another and more importantly, Jesus lived out that very teaching. You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/RVM9BA1ukoI

Journey Update - Nov 23/2020 Welcome to lockdown - Part Deux. The Journey will continue with our online programming, but for the next couple of weeks our doors are closed to all visitors. Here are some details: Thursday food distribution is suspended for now. We will re-evaluate in two weeks and try and make something happen before Christmas.... We still hope to pick up the Toys for Tots gifts, but Toys for Tots may not happen until after Christmas, we are still trying to figure this one out. All online programming will continue - Learning and Laughing, social media posts, BLM, Family Paint Night, ABOUT Faith. There are several other programs that we need to examine and make decisions about. We will let you know once we know. Hang in there and keep safe. - Kevin.
