26 So @nickthefinger and I went for a stroll and found this abandoned, broken chair in the middle of this deserted dirt field. Very apocalyptic, so of course we decided to have my birthday party there. Also, @duckducksarah ding-dong-ditched a present for me and it just so happened to be the most aesthetic mask for this photo op I could’ve asked for, so!... I hope everyone is safe and healthy, go have some cake! @ Vancouver, British Columbia See more

Now this is cool... for those who won’t be able to make it this weekend to the play In Re: Radding vs Glazer as part of Theatre In The Raw’s Wound Up In One Acts, you still will be able to hear it.... for free! Tune in to Vancouver Co-Op Radio, 100.5 FM on Thursday evening at 9:30pm for a radio version and interview! http://www.coopradio.org/content/about-co-op-radio

OH it's been so long since I've done a comedy! And this is gonna be good... Theatre In The Raw is producing a One-Act Play festival over a two week run. 4 plays X 4 nights! I'm in "In Re: Radding vs. Glazer" and it's a RIPSNORTER. (which is actually a word I discovered today that encompasses the piece perfectly)... Here's the event! https://www.facebook.com/events/477709199532679/ *A simple mistake over one fur coat being taken in place of another at a hair salon spirals out of control into a full blown verbal war. All the while the innocent salon owner is caught between the two aggrieved parties as accusations fly. A comedic reminder that any conflict started accidentally can escalate between entitled and unreasonable parties.*

Life through a lens . Since I can remember I’ve had glasses on my face. When you’ve worn them for so long they become part of your identity. Before the hipster phase made them desirable, before geekiness was commercialized and celebrated by mainstream media, glasses were a symbol of uncool. However as a girl my solace was books All of my heroines in books were intelligent, so I held on to the smart girl identity with a tight fist. . I started wearing contacts more ...frequently in my second year of college. It became quite liberating after a while and I found I no longer wanted to be constrained by the barrier I had put up to protect myself. . I’ve wanted to get laser eye surgery for a decade. Last week... I did it. . And it went well! During the mandatory week recovery period I’ve done a lot of reflecting; and I’ve realized how fortunate I really am. So much of my day to day life is SIGHT BASED, more than I ever imagined. In 2019, almost all of our communication and media is visual, so in a strange way I felt quarantined from the world. . I have spent the last week visually impaired. And it has opened my eyes to what some people go through their whole lives, and there are many who don’t have sight at all. . And I have the means (well debatable... ) to improve and fix it? How lucky am I? . I honestly thought I had it bad when I was legally blind" with glasses. There’s some awkward moments at the community pool, never getting a real good leg shave cause I had to do it by feel, or the feeling of the 12th hour of wearing contacts. Nope. It doesn’t compare to dreadfully over-seasoning my chicken, stubbing my toe for the 10th time, asking my boyfriend to write my emails, or getting my dear cousin to escort me 2 blocks to vote on Monday. . If you have this gift, cherish it today and look at something beautiful. If you feel like sharing, comment below . #Accessibility text- Photo 1- Amy is standing in front of a multicoloured wall mural wearing sunglasses, a blue top and smile on her face.
