Why is training your back important? Would you have a high end car that's turbo charged and has NOS but your brakes are from a used 1999 Honda civic? Probably not. Just like in training, it's not always about putting your foot down on the gas and never learning to use your brakes. For the bench press your back is the brakes. It's what controls you on the descent and keeps everything locked in. For the deadlift and the squat it's your nice sturdy frame. It keeps the bar cl...ose to you, keeping you up right and over that mid foot, stopping the bar from rolling and stopping you from snapping in half. Most people train back, but they normally just do it because they feel like they should; when in reality it’s an essential muscle group that helps all your lifts one way or another. Hit your back from all different angles, train it with tons of volume as well as some heavier weights. Don't be afraid to have a big, strong, and wide back. It will only help you unless you live in the Shire. Don't forget to work on your brakes as you add more power to the gas pedal. @misfitpowerlifting @viking_goddess.misfit #potatobarbellclub #powerlifting #fitness #weightlifting #powerliftinglife #powerliftingmotivation #powerlifter #powerliftingtraining #squat #bench #deadlift #squats #squatsonsquats #strength #fitness #gains #strength #strengthcoach #strengthtraining #coach #sbd #weights #thelifeofstrength #powerliftingcoach #strengthtraining #strengthcoach #strongereveryday #supportinglocal See more
