Who is that peeking out from behind the Christmas tree? It's our patient Sir Perry the rat! His family sent us this photo of Sir Perry at home inspecting the Christmas tree. Perhaps he is thinking that if he stays really still, he could blend in with the ornaments and maybe catch a glimpse of Santa on Christmas Eve.
In order to curb the spread of COVID-19, Ontario will be going into a province-wide lockdown starting on Saturday December 26th. The lockdown will remain in effect for a minimum of 28 days in southern Ontario. Our clinic will remain open during this time with holiday hours applicable. We also want to reassure you that the lockdown will not affect our new emergency hours, which begin on Friday January 1st. Our current protocols on how we see your pets remain in place (i.e. curbside service) until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our clinic by calling us at 416-223-1165 or e-mailing us at [email protected]. And please visit our web site for a full schedule of our holiday hours: https://thelinksroadanimalclinic.com/christmas-season-hours/ Stay safe and healthy everyone!
Hoppy Monday everyone! Since today is the first day of winter, we wanted to share this fun video of a bunny in Calgary grabbing a quick snack - courtesy of a neighbourhood snowman.
Guess who is about to celebrate his 13th birthday? Our patient Robbie the rabbit! Robbie is turning 13 next month and like many seniors, he has arthritis. Robbie comes to our clinic to get his arthritis treated with laser therapy, which keeps him hopping and happy. If you think your pet could benefit from laser therapy, please talk to one of our doctors and check out our web site for more information: https://thelinksroadanimalclinic.com//therapeutic-laser-t/

There's an old song about a horse with no name, but we have a patient who is a tortoise with no name. This Indian star tortoise came to our clinic recently for a check-up as he is being rehomed. His new family hasn't named him yet and we would love to hear your suggestions on what his name could be!
Today is Remembrance Day, a day to remember all of those who suffered and lost their lives during wartime. What many people forget is that millions of animals, ranging from elephants to insects, also suffer terribly and die as human-created conflicts are imposed upon them. The following article tells the stories of just some of the animals who were forced into service during the First World War; including a pigeon who was shot, blinded and lost a leg, but still managed to complete her mission, and a famous Canadian bear who was ultimately spared from being subjected to the horrors of the front lines. Lest we forget. https://www.express.co.uk//world-war-1/535149/Animals-war-
