To My Wonderful clients, I want to start this post by first thanking everyone that has helped The Little Hair Shop grow to what it is today, you are all so appreciated. It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you that as of June 10th, 2022, I will be saying goodbye to The Little Hair Shop. The last couple of years has been very difficult for everyone and has created some obstacles and challenges that have been hard to overcome, so I have decided it is time to move o...n to new opportunities. I am deeply saddened to say goodbye to the salon I have built from nothing, and more importantly it will incredibly difficult to say goodbye to all that have stuck with me not only for the 6.5 years The Little Hair Shop has been open, but the 17 year career that I have built within the community. Until the beginning of June, it is business as usual! If you’d like to get in to see me before I close, please send me a message and I will do my absolute best to make something work! I hope to have the opportunity to continue to see you so I will be able to say goodbye in person. Cancellation and NO SHOW notification: Just a small reminder that we require you to cancel your appointments 24 hours or more in advance! Not doing so can result in a charge of 50% of the appointment total, OR $20 per hour that is allotted for the appointment. NO SHOWS will be charged a no show fee, which is payable before booking any other appointment. The no show fee is 100% of the cost of the missed appointment. In instances where cost is unknown, a fee of $30 an hour,... for every hour booked, will be charged. These fees are due BEFORE any other appointment is scheduled. If another appointment is already pre-booked, it will be canceled if payment of late cancellation/no show fees are not paid immediately. I know things come up that doesn't always make getting to an appointment possible, however, our appointment spots are very important and we, as stylists, families, and business owners lose when the clients don't phone to cancel ahead of time or not at all, so please be sure to call ahead and give us plenty of notice! Quarantine fix up!! Didnt we all feel like we had to fight picking up the scissors to do a trim on ourselves? Or picking up that box of color for a change? Well, this lovely lady lost the battle with herself. . ... Time to break up the box color and freshen it up for fall!!! I love getting to visit with this beauty. Our conversations usually end up deeper than we intend, but I enjoy learning how someone else thinks and feels. Thanks for the afternoon!!

Balayage is something that Ive never really had a lot of confidence in. Im old. Whats that adage? Cant teach on old dog new tricks?. I feel that statement. That being said...Im pretty happy with this one!! I was impressed with the flow of it. ... I have always enjoyed this lovely ladys company, so its always a pleasure! (And to prove the previous old statement, we established today that Ive been doing her hair since she was 8. What did we say that was, 10+ years? It was not just yesterday ). I must admit though, I absolutely love being able to say that Ive been doing some of my clients hair since they were little. Post continuation: PLEASE SEE PREVIOUS POST FOR OPENING STATEMENTS!! RESCHEDULING: This is going to be a lot trickier than it already was before all of the COVID complications began. ... Again, I hope clients will be understanding that rescheduling appointments will see wait times extended a bit, as there will have to be appropriate time between appointments to ensure illnesses cannot be passed along. In short, appointments within the next few days after your original appointment will not be possible, unless you have proof of a negative COVID testing, if you have gone for testing. This is going to take time to figure out how it will all function to be as smooth as possible. I beg of everyone to be open minded and understanding. I am doing my best in all of this as well. CLEANING: I will continue to stay on top of cleaning!! Equipment and surfaces will continue to be washed down between all clients! This is very important to me in the salon, and I pride myself in doing my absolute best to ensure everyone can feel comfortable while in The Little Hair Shop. BATHROOM: The bathroom facilities will not be open to the public at this time. Im sorry to have to do this, but it is necessary, I hope everyone understands! Its that time of year again... BACK TO SCHOOL! Normally this is a very exciting time...for parents. . This year is a totally different feeling for most of us. A little less excitement to make room for the nervousness. I know for myself, I am still excited for the kids, to have a little bit of normal, even though that will look totally different than they are used to. But nervousness is still a factor for me. I hold a lot of faith in the adults that are helpin...g our kids along the journey, and they will keep them as safe as humanly possible! We all just have to do our part to help as well! That being said, I wanted to just address some of the changes you will be seeing at The Little Hair Shop, now that school is upon us. MASKS: As I previously posted, I will be wearing a mask at the salon, and i encourage you to as well, for your own comfort. Its not mandatory, as of now, but it may be in the near future. I will keep you posted with my decisions on the salon requirements! ILLNESS: If you are feeling unwell, you are required to reschedule your appointment. This is for the protection of myself, other clients, and our families. Even if you feel as though you are fine enough, it is not fine for us. So please be respectful, and reschedule your appointment. I will be relaxing the 24 hour notification for illness. It is completely understandable that it may be tough with certain circumstances, however I still do require notification, and NO SHOW fees will still apply if I dont not receive cancellation notification. I will give everyone as much notification as possible when it comes to having to reschedule on my end as well! I hope that everyone one will be respectful and understanding when this happens, as well, as we all know, with kids, that this WILL happen. IF YOU DO COME TO YOUR APPOINTMENT FEELING UNWELL, you will be asked to reschedule and come back for that future appointment. No appointment will happen that day. My understanding is there has been an announcement about the provinces reopening efforts. I havent seen it yet (poor internet connections) to be able to make any decisions about when I will be reopening. There are a number of factors that will considered when it comes to reopening. To my regular color clients: I am going to be making up kits for you to touch up your roots at home. If you are in need, send me a message or shoot me a text if you have my number. The colours will need to be applied within 24 hours, which is why I need a message or text, so we can arrange a time for pickup. Anyone else wondering what is wrong with Mother Nature?? Shes quite unhappy. Ah-well. Spring will be here soon enough. Ive been thinking of all of you wonderful people, Im hoping youre all holding up ok through this difficult time. I know Im feeling the pressure of the situation weighing on me. I love having time off, but I also like it to be my choice and when Ive prepared for it. I miss your faces and I hope you know I look forward to getting to visit with you soon enough. Im sure absolutely everyone is sick of these posts, but its my turn. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, I ask that if you have any cold/flu symptoms: fever, sore throat, breathing/chest difficulty,coughing or sneezing, or have travelled outside of Canada in the last 2 weeks, to reschedule your appointment for a later date. I would hate to pass on a sickness to someone who would have a harder time getting through it than others. I have a child that has a suppre...ssed immune system, so this is quite a serious issue for my immediate family. I am not treating this pandemic as though anyone needs to be panicking about it, but to abide by the guidelines put forth to try and protect the spread of this. Being a small business, I am monitoring the situation as closely as I can and still keep my sanity. If any changes on the status of the salons open doors, you will be the first to know with a post to this page. Please be respectful enough to recognize that if you are feeling under the weather, coming in may not be the best for myself, my family, and the others that come in our door that is at higher risk. I wish I had the ability to be able to work from home, but I do not, so I hope to be able to keep my doors open as long as it can safely be done.
