We were looking forward to playing 2 sold-out shows at the Bassment this weekend but we've had to cancel due to one of our members coming into contact with a positive covid case. While we would have loved to play you some licks and and show off our hot pants, keeping our friends and fans healthy and safe is much more important. We're isolating and practicing up on our own for now, we'll reschedule our shows and get back to singing and playing for you all when it's safe to do so. With love, The Local Group

Wisconsin is out now on all streaming services! It was great fun working with Geoff for this EP! Thanks to DevilDuck Records for putting it out to the world, to Jill Mack for recording us, and to Alexa for making the art. The three songs were all recorded almost-live-off-the-floor in a basement in Saskatoon. Vocal overdubs were added after the instrumentals were laid down. Here is a little bit about each song: Wisconsin - A song by Gunner and Smith from his album Byzantium. I...t's a real pretty one about his travels in the midwest. It is in E flat if you want to play along. I'll Be Here In The Morning - A cover by an artist we all love, the late great Townes Van Zandt. Ethan plays the fiddle on this one. He Once Was A Good Man - The title track of Gunner and Smith's debut full-length, reworked to be something completely different. A brooding doomgrass slow burn. Were playing for our first time in North Battleford tomorrow at She-NANIGANS! Mucho excito for our first indoor show in many moons. AND! Hello there friends and neighbours. Maybe some of you have been wondering, "how are them Local Boys doing?" We appreciate the thought. Well tell ya. Back in March, Justin went back home to Australia for what was supposed to be a two week trip. When things got ugly, he couldnt make it back to Saskatoon. So hes currently enjoying his extended vacation in isolation and we likely wont be seeing him for a long while. So that sucks quite a bit. We miss him something f...ierce. We were looking forward to a great summer - above is the tour poster for all the festivals we would have played that were canceled. The good news is, we will most likely be playing all of these festivals next year (and hopefully more). Itll be much less work for us to book next summer :) As the situation is improving in our province, we will hopefully be able to start doing small shows as a trio again at the end of the summer. This Friday, Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Festival is putting on Boo Grass, a Halloween old time dance. Well be playing the tunes as the Haunted Hollow Stringband along with the fabulous fiddler/airplane pilot Erik Paquette. Jille Shotton will be calling some square dances and reels and teaching the steps to do them. Its a lot easier and way more fun than high school gym class made you think!
