VENDOR SPOTLIGHT While on maternity leave with my two small girls, I planned a lot of events with the support of local businesses. Whether it was food, decor or gift ideas; there was someone with the creativity and talent that could do whatever I envisioned. And then over a period of time, I discovered communities of small businesses lead by women all over who balance these side hustles while working full time jobs or raising families. They are usually one set of hands that... show up to vendor markets on weekends, managing their own social media and travelling to stockists in their spare time. This fuelled my passion project, @_shopsmallco_ in January 2020, our Small Shop Box was created. Our company supports these creative and talented women while giving people an opportunity to experience awesome locally handmade, handcrafted products. Since becoming a mom, I have had a strong desire to support other women on their own journeys and appreciate the talented women who are trying to find a work/life balance, who do more so that they can spend more time with their families or just simply want to pursue a dream.
