The Mary Webb Centre For The Arts 10.01.2021

Just like all of the stages, art galleries and the community centres across the country, things have certainly been quiet at The Mary Webb Centre since March last year. In fact, it was March 7th when one of our regular performers, one of your favourites, Rant Maggie Rant, was the last act on the stage. We've been making plans for getting back to music, art and community gatherings but it looks like we are all going to have to wait until September before we hear live music fro...m the stage, meditate in the lower level, gather for community events there as well and view and buy impressive local and regional art. No, wait! Art! We have news! We are very excited to present to you on our website, The Mary Webb Centre On-line Marketplace! You have to see this beautiful presentation of all of the art that is currently in our Art Gallery at www.marywebbcentre.ca. It may be hard for you to scroll all the way to the bottom of the art display before you decide to buy something. And it only takes an e-mail to us and we will arrange the sale. Go there now and take a gander - we think you will like what you see and realise again that we have some very talented artists in the area. And as we present our visual art we have some plans to present some great musical artists too, but through a live stream and from another venue in Ontario. That venue is going to host the artist on their stage with only a virtual audience, that's you and those who chose to link in and stream the show live at home! The Mary Webb Centre is one of the select venues to be linked into this new concept. It's the current way of enjoying live music and if you haven't experienced it yet, you will be amazed how you feel that you are right there in the concert hall! Stay tuned for our announcement of 4 shows of 4 great artists, a couple who have been to The Mary Webb Centre before. Members will be able to link in and Zoom the show right to your home! That's all for now but we aim to bring you an eBlast or a Facebook post or an Instagram... every week to keep you in the loop, entertained and possibly help you put new art on your walls. #TheMaryWebbCentreForTheArts #CKOnt #LivingCK #SupportTheArts

The Mary Webb Centre For The Arts 28.12.2020

Great Things Happen at The Mary Webb Centre for the Arts! Hi folks. We’re still alive at TMWC and waiting, not too patiently, for all of this COVID 19 to be over so that we can get back to our business with concerts etc. Our performers are equally anxious to return. We will certainly let you know as things start to come together. In the meantime, a flash to the past to May, 2018.... Tickets for the May 18th Steven Page (formally of The Barenaked Ladies) concert were sold out in late March. Ticket holders absolutely were treated to an amazing concert for their belief in Steven. The audience responded with a floor stomping standing ovation until Steven returned for 2 more songs. A memorable evening. People were still not willing to leave at 11:30 pm. #TheMaryWebbCentreForTheArts #StevenPage #FlashToThePast #ThrowbackThursday #CKOnt #LivingCK #SupportTheArts #SupportCanadianVenues #CanadianLiveMusic
