Hi everyone! My name is Brittany, I am the founder of The Middle Ground Market and the voice behind these squares. I know I am way past due on sharing my story but what better time than the present, amiright? . We are coming up on the 2 year anniversary of when The Middle Ground was just an idea written in the memopad of my phone. I never could have envisioned that idea blossoming into what The MG is today. The concept from day one has always been crystal clear in my eyes: cr...eate a space that supports local businesses by providing an opportunity for makers and creatives to showcase and sell their products; encourage and welcome growth by committing to fixed rental agreements and give 100% of sales back to the owners. . The idea of businesses keeping 100% of their sales honestly came to be when I stepped back and looked at my own business and what my needs were. Doesnt sound as noble now does it? But hear me out. In addition to running The Middle Ground Market, I too have a vested interest as a vendor. My indie business is Day by Day Designs - we create wooden decor pieces for your home. For about two years DBD operated online plus we had some of our smaller signs in a couple local shops. During that time I found myself often wondering what other people did to balance their work/life/side hustle. How were other people calculating their time? For some businesses wholesale and consignment are the way to go. For my business that wasnt really an option because of our margins. It feels great having your product in local shops but if youre not calculating your costs correctly aka your time, youll always end up short. I kept coming back to two thoughts. The main, reoccurring thought I had was, there had be another way. The second thought was, I cant possibly be the only one in this predicament. . So that brings us to today. The MG is currently home to 17 businesses. This shared space was built on daydreams and like-minded people coming together to take a chance on something new. I cant wait to get back to business as usual and open our doors back up for you to shop at The Middle Ground - where everything you buy comes with a story. : @sherripoirier_

Dear friends, The Middle Ground will remain closed until further notice. It is clear from our Government and Public Health Officials that taking preventative measures is high on their priority list. We want to mirror their efforts as we think its important to take care of ourselves, our families as well as our community by closing down and reassessing when more is known. Our vendor wall is growing! There are now 17 local businesses with their very own micro boutique within the MG with more starting in April! I never thought I would be typing these words, especially so soon, but our cozy shop is nearing capacity! As we head into this next season I wanted to put it out there in case some of you have been wondering what it would be like to have your very own space to showcase and sell your product within The Middle Ground and what that mean...s exactly! . . . Since it went over so well last time, I am planning another drop by day so you can pop in to see the space in person and ask any questions you may have. Ill be at the MG this Saturday from 10am - 1pm , feel free to reach out to connect ahead of time or just stop in on the weekend! Dont worry, if weekends are jam packed for you just send me an email and I can schedule you in on another day . . We will be taking our time over the next few weeks to meet with as many interested businesses as we can while we focus on diversifying our product line.
