As many of you know, mental health has been a subject I don't stay very quiet on. Do I worry sometimes that it could damage or tarnish my business? Sometimes. Then I remember everything I've learned to get to where I am in my journey. That my authenticity and sharing my struggles, my successes, my deep winding path of self discovery, is all part of a bigger picture. Without expression, I don't know if I'd be here today. Without sharing, I don't know if I'd have the strength... to live my truest self. So today I share a story and my reason for posting these items as part of my Give Back collection. 4 days before my grand opening of the cafe I sank into a deep deep hole. For the first time in my life, I checked myself into the hospital. As I sat there in the mental health unit and witnessed what the system looked like, I had chills going down my spine. Cold, Sad, Dark, Lonely. I walked out of there feeling like something had to be done. How can one heal and grow in such a sad atmosphere? So I started to create. Create designs that would be the step in the direction of ending the stigma around mental health. To help people realize that the stigma has.got.to.go. Mental health is a part of every single one of our stories. Now more than ever we need to be interdependent and support one another. Life is providing challenges for alllll of us. Let's guide each to some light. We no longer have to stay in this dark place. It can be beautiful but we gotta start by reaching out our hands and telling each other that it's ok to feel, to hurt, to cry, to smile, to laugh, to exist. I gotchu, beautiful. You're safe here.

Hey guys! You guys have shown MASSIVE support and I can't thank you enough! You were so supportive that we really have our work cut out for us and will be working like little elves day and night!! If you know me... You know I'm a big preacher of community over competition. But why? Well, that's an easy answer. I know the hustle. I know how hard it is to build a company. How little you sleep, see your family, see your friends. How much you worry about putting food on the table, a roof over your head, having life be easy one day. I know that feeling all too well and I never want someone to feel like they are alone. How could I be mad at that? Healthy competition is some...thing we need to learn to manage, a flame that ignites in us to learn more, be better than we were yesterday, not better than someone also just trying to improve their lives. If you're new to the maker community, please, don't give up. Keep going. Keep creating. Keep supporting those around you, all of them. Be an inspiration, be caring, spread kindness. Trust me, you won't make any more sales being salty or tearing someone else down. You'll only damage your own hard work and inner self. Now I'm not saying don't stand your ground but there's a right way to everything. Respect matters to not only others but to yourself too. Make sure at the end of the day, you look in the mirror and you are proud of every part of yourself. Once you see positivity and greatness in yourself, it will manifest some beautiful shit. A happier family, better friends and a solid group of badass female entrepreneurs ready to have your back. A community like no other. For those beautiful people I've had a chance to meet throughout the last 5 years, even those in my industry, thank you for being so god damn beautiful inside and out. I can't wait to see what magical places this universe will take you and I am so blessed to be part of your journey.
