Just wanted to say how encouraged we are by the response to our new mill dock open-air, self-serve, on-your-honour system shop (thank you to all of our customers). Also wanted to share this lovely photo.

New! Our 'Honour System Retail' always open shop on the loading dock at the Mill at Tamworth selling great books @ $2.00 each, assorted collectibles and decor. Pay by cash, cheque or Paypal (details on the sign next to the big blue loading dock door).

We always tend to underestimate the time required. Thought we'd be ready to open today, but we need at least 3 more hours to get the rest of the books out. So by tomorrow mid-afternoon our "Wonderful Store" self-serve/honour system dock shop will be open. Please no more than 4 shoppers at a time and remember to keep your 6 ft. distance and to sanitize your hands before touching anything. Wearing a mask to protect others is recommended, just in case.

Well, we're not too far off target (on May 15 I posted that we'd be open in about 3 weeks). All being well, we should be open for next weekend. We'll post the confirmation of opening day the night before. Once we open, we'll be open every day from dawn to dusk. It will be honour system with regards to both safety (sanitizing hands before shopping, no more than 4 on the loading dock shop at the same time and maintaining minimum 6 ft. distance) and payment (cash, cheque and online payment only). Inventory and hand sanitizer will be replenished on our regular trips to the mill.

Our signs for our new loading dock 'Honour System Retail' shop arrived yesterday so we're still hoping to open early-ish in June. But we now eschew any self-imposed deadlines so we'll announce the opening date here only when we know it's ready to go. Meanwhile, what a glorious show the trees are putting on out there!

As Nature rebounds, so will we.

While we continue to shelter at home, so many vital workers continue to risk their lives on our behalf. Some thoughtful soul in Yarker says it best. Stay safe folks, as best you can.
