The Modest Homestead 30.01.2021

After a lot of thought, we have decided to increase our price of farm fresh eggs to $4/dozen. Many of our community farmers are now charging at least this price. With the cost of feed increasing, we need to increase our price so that we can cover our farm costs. In a world where food is being recalled, and people are growing to appreciate the value of local, and the efforts of farmers, we hope that our loyal customers will continue to support our ‘modest homestead’.... Thanks, The Ferguson Family

It’s a busy day in the kitchen. But I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all of your support. We’re just a couple of simple country people trying to make a living from doing things we love. I want to be at home, raising my boys, seeing all of their first. So that’s why I spend these days in the kitchen, and around the homestead. Thank you all for helping us make this happen.

Nothing makes me happier than a clean, bright workspace. It has been brought to my attention that there has been some concern expressed about pets in my work space. Unfortunately, the concern wasn’t brought directly to me. We don’t have indoor pets here on the homestead. Unless you count the stuffed deer that we inherited from my late father in law. It sits on the top shelf of the kitchen window. ... Aside from that, we only have wild children in the house.
