In this second post in the series of creating space, Eytan Lerner, member of The Moving Center writes about importance of slowing down. This is a 1 minute-read L...ast week we wrote about the importance of slowing down to observe with quiet appreciation what your child is doing and how he is doing it. When you observe how your child experiences himself and explores his environment, you can move away from trying to correct him and instead connect with your own curiosity and enthusiasm. When you are in this mode of quiet and genuine appreciation join your child’s activity or initiate an activity he enjoys. This could be as simple as changing his diaper or singing and playing together. Slow yourself down, see how he reacts, how he initiates play or communication with you. When you slow down you can notice small differences in the way you speak, move, and what you sense, and so can your child. When we slow down, we sense more and our brains create an abundance of new connections- we learn. This is what we want for ourselves and our children. #feldenkrais #Feldenkraismethod #Anatbanielmethod #children #childrenwithspecialneeds #Autism #infants #Babies #learning #brain #slowingdown Special thanks to Andrea and Matty for editing the post.

I am reposting this video of my sweet little client from a few months ago just to happily update that he has started lately pushing and standing his legs while sitting in various ways, which was a big deal for him. In our last intensive last week, he has found ways to start coming up to standing. This is the beginning of a fresh new journey for him and he is so excited(and so are we!). In the former post, there was a detailed description of his journey by his father and the... changes they saw over the last two years #anatbanielmethod #autism #FELDENKRAIS #childrenwithspecialneeds #FeldenkraisMethod #geneticdisorder #CVI #winnipeg #winnipegparent See more

If you are a parent or a caregiver of a child that has challenges or special needs you probably know the feeling of constantly searching and struggling to find the best ways for your child to overcome their limitations and thrive. When was the last time you stopped and observed your child’s innovative and intelligent ways of problem solving and overcoming what comes naturally to other children? When we shift our attention to what is already happening we can start to apprecia...te our child more and see him in a new light. This shift in perspective is not just an abstract shift but a very practical one. When you see your child you start to connect with him on a level that allows his brain to learn and change. In the following weeks and posts I will suggest ideas you can use to connect in this way, which can make a big difference in helping your child to move beyond his limits and prosper. #feldenkrais #consciousmovement #childrenwithspecialneeds #autism #anatbanielmethod #winnipeg #canada #naturalmovement #evolution #neuroscience
