The Night Oven Galette des Reine (Queen Cake) is now available for pre-order until Sunday (Jan. 10) // This French pastry has history going back all the way to the 14th Century and is made using puff pastry, almond frangipane, pastry cream, and candied citrus. Inside each galette is a small fève, which in our case is a food safe porcelain croissant or jammy-toast, but traditionally a fava bean was used. To serve, the galette should be cut in equal slices for each person... present, then whoever's slice contains the fève is declared le roi (the king) or la reine (the queen) for the day and is given the golden crown. // Orders must be placed by phone or in-person at the bakery for next day pick-up!
