The Now Talk Show with Dr. Nadine Wong and Special Guests Keith Hill Jr. and Jermaine Spence co-authors of the book "Knew Me". These 2 men are two of the 10 co-authors of this amazing book "Knew Me". Which was spearheaded by the founder Jeff A.D. Martin and his vision to get a perspective from 10 different authors.... One of the co-authors is Keith Hill Jr. Who is a consummate entrepreneur that has managed his own Legal Accounting company, Bookkeeping Matters Inc since 2013. In 2016, Keith wrote and published his first book, Fighting Fear & Doing Discipline a book he wrote about strength and perseverance. This led to keynote speaking engagements at several high schools and universities throughout the GTA. He uses the lessons of discipline and courage, which he unpacks in his book, as the backdrop for his speaking engagements. In 2019, Keith released a TV pilot called Ray & Nephew which he wrote and produced independently. Jermaine Spence, who works as a Community Support worker for the Canadian mental health Association in Peel, Toronto, Canada. He is also the founder and operator of a Social Initiative called Hope Endoors Community Services, which provides transitional housing support for men suffering from mental health and addictions issues, which had to be shut down because of the pandemic that we are currently going through and this really left a void in the heart of Mr. Spence as this project is something that is near and dear to his heart. Mr. Spence is also Ordained Pastor and serves as the Young Adult Pastor of Dayspring church in Brampton Ontario. All of the co-authors for the "knew Me" work within their communities to give back and empower their fellow brothers and sisters. The Now Talk Show with Dr. Nadine Wong and Special Guests Jeff A.D. Martin and Randell Adeji co-authors of the book "Knew Me". These 2 men are two of the 10 co-authors of this amazing book "Knew Me". Which was spearheaded by Jeff A.D. Martin and his vision to get a perspective from 10 different individuals that would have something of value to offer for every reader.... Mr. Martin had a life altering encounter in 2005 when his cousin was shot and killed and within that same year he was hired by the Police force and during this time he found out who the murderer of his cousin was so he had to make a very hard and emotional decision. Should he seek street justice and avenge the killer of his cousin or should he up hold the law and let the judicial system take care of this matter. Randell Adjei is an entrepreneur, speaker and spoken word practitioner who uses his gifts to empower through Edutainment. He is the founder of one of Toronto's largest youth led initiatives. Reaching Intelligent Souls Everywhere (R.I.S.E Edutainment). In 2018, R.I.S.E received the Toronto Arts Foundation’s, Mayor’s Youth Arts Award. Randell is the author of I am Not my struggles, a powerful Anthology released in 2018. He is 1 of 4coaches involved in the Toronto Public Library (Poetry Saved Our Lives) project. Randell was also the Black Canadian Awards - Best Spoken Word award winner in 2015. Randell was also named CBC’s Metro Morning’s Torontonian of the Year in 2015 and NOW Magazines Local Hero in May 2017. Join us Monday October 26th @ 7pm ET Mr. Morgan began his career as a spoken word artist in 1993 which was quite challenging for him as a introvert who did not believe his thoughts and opinions mattered but once he learned to take himself out of the equation and just inspire others to share their gifts, life began to change. ... In 1994, he founded "Up From The Roots" entertainment, to promote the positive artistic contributions of African Canadian and urban influenced artists. Mr. Morgan is the 2018 winner of the Sheri-D Wilson Golden Beret Award for Career Achievement in the Spoken Word. In 2016, Morgan was a finalist for the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts. In 2013, Morgan was inducted into the Scarborough Walk of Fame. Morgan has received both the African Canadian Achievement Award, and the Harry Jerome Award for Excellence in the Arts. In 2012, Morgan performed at Super Bowl 46, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Morgan is the winner of 3 Canadian Urban Music Awards (2001, 2003, 2005). In 2005, Morgan was recognized as Poet of Honor at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in Vancouver, and in 2008 his contribution to the Arts and Canadian society were recognized on the Legacy Black History Month poster. In 2019, he founded and co-produced the inaugural Toronto Spoken Soul Festival. Dwayne has performed for the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, the former Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean, the late leader of the NDP, Jack Layton. Mr. Morgan has published thirteen books, collaborated with Driftwood Studios to film, Three Knocks, a ten-minute film, which premiered in Toronto’s Reel World Film Festival. Dwayne Morgan is the producer and host of two TV shows, Poetically Speaking, and Write in Toronto, on the Afroglobal Television Network, and Bell Fibe TV1 respectively, and his one-man play, Grade 8, now appears on the CBC’s PlayMe Podcast. These men are not just sharing their storie...s but they are taking active roles in their communities to work with the youth who are going through similar situations in which these men have already encountered and now as a way of giving back and being that guide that is often missing within our communities, they are filling that void and helping others find a better way in dealing with very uncomfortable and misdiagnosed conditions. Join us Monday October 19th @ 7pm ET Dr. Gault is the founder and organizer of the Njozi Ensemble which included the Njozi Poets, the Njozi Chorus, Njozi Magazine and the Njozi Slam series, Dr. Gault is also a slam poet, actor, playwright and author.... He received his B.S. from Medaille College, and his M.A. and PhD from SUNY Buffalo. One of the greatest traumas that Dr. Gault had to endure was losing his mother after his mother lost her best friend of over 50 years 10 days prior. Dr. Gault`s mother and best friend lived across the street from each other in Buffalo N.Y. for many years, went to school together and helped one another in raising their respective families and to lose both of them in the span of less than 2 weeks was something that was very overwhelming for Dr. Gault and his family. Through it all Dr. Gault persevered to create a wonderful career for himself and he will be sharing his story of triumph and victory with us all, while pointing out the most important factors in living a balanced and fulfilling life.
