Dear friends of the orbit room and lovers of live music. It has been a very long time since we gathered at the club on college st to listen to some of the finest live music in the city. It appears that it will be a while yet. The love of the club and what it was is still alive and well though and it is in that spirit that I am launching an online orbit room merch store. You can now wear your support on your chest. The store will be launched soon but the tee shirts will also be available to those in and around Toronto at Wanda’s Pie in the Sky as of tomorrow. Saturday January 9th. A trip to Kensington market and $30 in cash gets you an orbit room tee shirt. Nothing is for certain but the orbit room as a presenter of live music will rise again so please buy a shirt and help keep the memory alive.

Don't Miss September's Orbit Listening Sessions We want to emphasize that the nights at Peter Pan will be much different that the busy nights at The Orbit Room. Peter Pan's capacity is 120 but we will only be allowing 30 patrons to attend each listening session, safely and responsibly. All precautions will be in place. Don't miss this special month of music. Hello, tim from the orbit here announcing a new and exciting musical venture with one of the finest restaurants in Toronto. This September, I am opening a pop up live music club on the second floor of the Peter Pan Bistro on Queen West. Years ago I had chef Noah Goldberg open a pop up at the Orbit Room and he is returning the favour. Mondays, Tuesadays and Wednesdays in September we will be offering a safe, fun and delicious night out experience with a great meal and some of the Orbits finest talent. Please go to the Peter Pan website for info about resos, capacity and the menu. Please share the poster with all your friends and please consider coming to one of these events. It's been 5 months and it's time to put our musician pals back to work.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my announcement that the orbit room will not reopen. I am truly moved by how many of you loved the place. I also want to have a big shout out to my 2 original partners. There were three of us that opened the club so Pamela Fenton and Alex Lifeson, I hope you are both safe and happy. I am thinking of you today. We had a lot of fun together and I will never forget it. There is one more person I need to mention. A guy whose input steere...d the club in the direction that kept it going for 25 years. That person is, of course, my best friend and musician extraordinaire, Lou Pomanti. When I opened the club, I knew 2 musicians. Alex Lifeson and I had been friends for years. Lou and I met in the mid 80s because so many people we both knew thought that we looked alike. We met and have been best friends from that first meeting. When Alex , Pamela and I chose 580a College as our location, I thought that we needed a band to play on the weekend and have Alex play with them. I called the only other musician I knew and Lou formed the DEXTERS. The Dexters were not only the greatest band to ever play the club but they set the bar for all other bands that followed. Lou will also be part of any orbit room live music venture in the future. Thanks to everyone and stay safe. Tim Notter

Dear fans of the Orbit Room and live music, it has been 4 months since all live music shows and venues were closed due to the pandemic. It pains me to have to announce that the club at 580a College St will remain closed. This doesn't mean that we are out of the live music business, it just means that our shows will no longer be at that address. For 22 of the last 25 years, we have had a band play every night of the week. Like everyone else, we will have to wait and see how th...e business reopens and what it will look like before we can make any plans for the future. Apparently, the people that make those decisions have no idea what sort of timeline we are looking at. I want to thank everyone who ever came to the club to see the best musicians in the country. I want to thank the hundreds of musicians who graced our tiny stage and gave the club the reputation of offering the best live music experience in the city. You lot really were the Orbit Room. I want to thank Tim Wilson and all the people who worked behind that bar. I'll make announcements about future shows so please stay tuned. Thanks and stay safe, Tim Notter
