Serina creates art using beeswax from her and her husband's small apiary near Sherwood Park. Mixing beeswax with some tree sap and earth pigments, applying it hot to a firm surface and then using a torch to fuse it together, Serina comes up with many prairie themed landscapes, a few forgotten beaches among other beautiful rich textures paintings. Her paintings are very tactile with layers and layers of beeswax making them 3D and perfect for those tactile shoppers! As an Alberta born girl, Serina grew up with a mom that is an accomplished artist in many mediums. Serina, however, did not find her inner artist until 2017 when she discovered encaustic painting. Largely self taught, each piece is a new discovery of technique and design and beeswax ensures that no two paintings are ever alike! Painting is her therapy and solace with 6 kids, a dog, a bee farm (apiary) and running a retirement home in Edmonton.
