Hockey hiatus Pro-Tip: If your hockey player’s equipment is in the back of your vehicle, you may want to take advantage of the break and throw some of their gear in the wash.
Via Hockey Manitoba November 30, 2020 Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been made to cancel the 2021 Hockey Manitoba Provincials presented by Cargill Ltd. which were scheduled to take place throughout the province in February/March 2021.... Each year, the hockey season is capped off with the Hockey Manitoba Provincials presented by Cargill Ltd bringing together approximately 250 teams and 4,000 players to compete for the provincial championship. The decision to cancel the minor hockey championships has been made with the safety of all members and the community in mind. These tournaments will not be rescheduled for the 2021 season. The cancellation will provide leagues with more time to plan the current season and the ability to extend the season past February as we return to play. As we return to play this season, provincial leagues will still have the ability to name a provincial champion and compete to represent Manitoba at a national tournament. Hockey Manitoba remains optimistic that we can regroup and host the 2022 Hockey Manitoba Provincial Championships presented by Cargill Ltd. next season.
