This week we were asked if we could share how to BAKE our Mac N’ Cheese Kit into an ouey gooey casserole. Just in case you’re curious too, it’s really simple Baked Mac N’ Cheese Casserole... * Preheat oven to 350F. Follow instructions for boiling fresh pasta and warming sauce. After stirring together cooked pasta and sauce, add to a lightly greased baking dish. * Sprinkle breadcrumb topping over the top and bake until bubbly and golden brown, about 15 - 20 minutes. Serve immediately. P.s Extra toppings can take your kit to the next level. We think extra cheese, pickled Jalapenos, crispy onions, or pico de gallo would be delicious additions! What a delicious suggestion. We’ll be sure to include it on all copies of our Pasta Kit cooking instructions from now on! Happy Mother’s Day from this mother-daughter duo of a team If you asked us 10 years ago if we would be in business together, I think we both would have laughed, and then said okay, let’s do it, how hard could it be? Because that’s exactly how it all started, 5 years ago! As mother and daughter we share a family story and both felt a passion to share our special family moments. We wanted to make them available for others to experience, more frequ...ently than occasional sunday meals. We still keep a few hand crank pasta machines and gnocchi boards around the shoppe just to remind us of the tradition, family values and strong women that taught us what we know. What's your favourite moment working together so far? Kim (Mom): My favourite moment to date is watching the sparkle in her eye appear when a "good idea" becomes a reality. Five years in and we still have a good laugh or two a day. I look forward to our Monday morning meetings on Thursdays around 3pm. The high five and "Hear me out" moments. I just enjoy knowing that we can work together. Ashlyn (Daughter): I love our behind the scene groove before we open the doors of the shoppe for the day, occasional dance parties. We high five over the smallest things that feel like a win Like when the pasta cuts beautifully, or just after a long day. The Pasta Shoppe Home Kitchen: tips & tricks for cooking Fresh Tagliatelle. Since many of you recieved tagliatelle in your pasta kits today, we thought it might be helpful to share a few secrets about this delicate pasta. Tip 1: After opening your package, loosen up the soft bundles. Because it’s fresh sometimes it sticks together. ... Break up clumps that are hanging on, just give the tagliatelle a little shake You want it to be able to flow and dance in the boiling water. If you usually pop the whole bundle in the pot, that’s okay too - it will break up in the water. This way just ensures that it’s loose & free. Tip 2: Now let’s talk about cooking tips: Fill your pasta pot with 3-4 litres of water. Turn your element on high and salt the water. It should resemble sea water. Once your pot is boiling add in your Tagliatelle. Give it a stir to prevent sticking. Fresh pasta cooks REALLY QUICK! Boil for 3-4 minutes. Tip 3: when foam begins to build in the pot, turn your element down to medium. Your pasta will continue to cook on a calmer boil without over flowing. Strain through a colander, and mix in with your sauce! Tip 4: Our fresh pasta freezes really well if you don’t want to eat it all in one sitting
