MEET MICHELLE! She is bubbly, kind, and most often wearing a smile. She’s been with us for a little while now but let’s get to know her a bit better. What are you doing when you’re not at the clinic? Hanging out with my dog Loki, either cuddling in bed or going on walks and hiking adventures. What type of client is best suited for you? I love to treat anyone in need of massage from athlete to those with chronic pain to relaxation. I’d love to work with people to build a cust...om care plan to make sure that they get the most out of each treatment. What is your favourite place you’ve visited? The beaches in Bali and the snowy Rockies! Why did you decide to become a massage therapist? I’ve always wanted to work with people and aid in their healthcare experience in some way; I previously worked as a medical office assistant and now I assist patients in their recovery or pain relief! What is your favourite way to get active and why? Hiking the local mountains, it’s absolutely beautiful and you can get a great workout while enjoying the fresh air! Random fact about you: I am a twin (and no we don’t look much alike!) You can book with Michelle now at: https://thephysioshop.janeapp.com/#/staff_member/20

Meet Davin!! He is one of our very talented physiotherapists! He is energetic, smiley and you can usually you can find him humming/singing along to music in the clinic. Let’s get to know him a bit better! What are you doing when you’re not at the clinic? Spending time with my family, and taking care of my new baby girl, Ara. I enjoy going for hikes on the North Shore and when it’s not too wet, camping on the weekends. What type of client is best suited for... you?Working at a sports clinic for a number of years, I am confident in all injuries. Lately I have been seeing more complex neurological cases involving a whole-body approach to recovery. What is your favourite place you’ve visited? It seems like the more I travel, the more I start to appreciate the west coast and what we have here in BC. I love going to Tofino and Northern Vancouver Island, like Quadra Island/Cortes Island. What is a significant memory in your fitness/health lifestyle? Running varsity track at UBC was a big highlight for me. Learning what it takes to compete at a high level is something I really appreciate now. The hours of training, the lifestyle changes you make, and the mileage was a huge learning experience. What is your favourite way to get active and why? I love running. For me it clears my head and its great exercise. Random fact about you: I’ve done a bit of amateur musical theatre in my day. I’m very rusty, so don’t expect any serenading. See more

We have an exciting surprise! We have been tossing the idea around about starting a podcast and seeing where it leads us. With all this downtime, we have directed our energy into launching it. The Physio Shop Talk seeks to discuss topics around rehabilitation and those in the healthcare field. We want to dive into all things Physio related, but also things in which may not get talked about all that much that may influence the way we treat rehab and exercise. See the link in our bio for the first few episodes. More to come!

How to: - Stand up straight and take a large step forward onto one leg. ... - Assume a deep lunge position by bending the front leg and sinking your hips down. Your back leg should remain straight, which will force you to balance on the ball of your foot. - Assume a deep lunge position by bending the front leg and sinking your hips down.
