Following my next @rachel.cargle prompt and learning about the history of black cowboys. Learning about Bass Reeves (the real Lone Ranger) and Deadwood Dick ... I was struck by an immense feeling of anger that our white supremacist society has deprived us of the history and stories of black people. Such lies they've told us! I share this in an effort to be vulnerable and to normalize talking about how white supremacy effects everything. If I'm this angry about it - what about people who have been effected by it for 400 years?! (And continue to be today) I know in the past I have tone policed black people in my head. " Being angry and in your face is not going to help your cause".... But it's 1000% justified and I will forever forward honour that anger.

Reposted from @uk_vegans I STAND WITH FARMERS I can't even explain guys, I've just spent the last few hours educating myself and researching what is currently happening in India and I am absolutely HORRIFIED. I've created this to summarise everything I've read, watched and heard. I might not have all the information yet but I'm educating myself and I will soon.... We actually need to do something now. This isn't just a protest. This is a fight for human rights. So many lives been lost and if there isn't a change - more lives will be lost. Please please PLEASE take the time to read this and educate yourselves. Take the time to sign the petitions. Take the time to send the open letter to your MP. The links are in my bio and it takes 2 minutes. PLEASE share this to your stories and educate others! We need to spread the news of what is happening. WE ARE EATING THE FOOD THESE FARMERS GROW. This has everything to do with us. We are all the same. #StandWithFarmers . . . #istandwithfarmers #farmersprotest #indianfarmers #standforhumanity #makeachange #justiceforfarmers #indiaprotests #kisaan #farming #indianagriculture #india #vegan #kisaanmajdoorektazindabad #kisaan #supportfarmers #askindiawhy

Reposted from @foodempowermentproject (TW/CW) THIS IS IMPORTANT. F.E.P. stands with India’s farmers and farm workers and we urge you to read and share what is currently taking place. Repost from @coolspiritualguy... This is not an exhaustive list. India has countless human rights violations dating back to 1947 when it first formed as a country, to the 1991 anti-Tamil riots, The damming of Punjab’s water, the Sikh genocide in 1984 and the Gujarat Muslim genocide of 2002 lead by now Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi (again this is not an exhaustive list, there are many more). India, "The World's Largest Democracy" has been killing minorities since its formation. In the past 48 hours alone, Indian police have attacked and murdered innocent protestors who were simply practicing their democratic right to protest undemocratically passed farm bills. The Government of India has shown the world that to protect the business interests of billionaires Ambani and Adani, they will brutalize, arrest, and kill their citizens. I implore my friends and family to speak up against this state-sponsored violence. The events unfolding in India are hurting us, they are hurting me and they hurting many of your Punjabi friends as well. Please speak up now. Please tag media and share! #nofarmersnofood #genocide #punjab #punjabi #kisaanmajdoorektazindabad #kisanektazindabaad #nofarmersnofoodnofuture #india #policebrutality #usa #freedom See more

I've been thinking long and hard about how I can participate in Black History Month. I thought about making and designing educational posts... But who am I to educate on this topic? Instead, I'll be following (and paying for) @rachel.cargle 's educational prompts. I'll share them as often as I can as I catch up but I encourage you to follow her account and take a few minutes a day (you can spare this time, believe me) to watch and/or read about the prompts. And don't forget t...o PAY for the education you're receiving. If you are benefiting from black and brown scholars and educators, PAY them. . . . .
