THE EFFECTS OF WINTER ON YOUR FENCE Wooden Fences: These fences are the most susceptible to rot and mildew. They are also prone to becoming discoloured and saggy. Vinyl/Chainlink: Although these styles of fences are not known to rot due to moisture, they can still be affected by winter weather.
