This fabric captures renewable solar energy, brings shade to urban areas and lights the way at night! It's flexible, portable and brings solar power to any stre...et, park or parking lot. The fabric contains a photovoltaic sheet, conductive copper-based ink and bright LED strips, helping to fight the urban heat island effect in cities by keeping temps cool! Solar canals reduce evaporation, generate electricity, and are a smart way to utilize space! Fossil fuels have long been the primary energy source in India, but... brilliant ideas like this one have popped up in recent years to innovate renewable energy. Solar energy generates clean power, but it usually takes up a lot of space! By covering up irrigation canals with solar panels, clean energy is not only harvested from what's otherwise unused space, but it also saves water resources by preventing it from evaporating, AND the canal keeps the panels cool. This 10-MW solar plant in Gujarat, India, blankets over 2 miles with 33,000 panels. It's estimated to have saved nearly 40 acres of land and prevents 90 MILLION liters of water from evaporating each year. India is solving multiple problems at once to take sustainable energy to the next level! Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd via Facebook
