Yesterday I ended up with a tick bite that looks like this! And that little sucker bit in hard! I’ve been bitten by many ticks in my lifetime but this was the first time it actually hurt quite a bit. It felt like a bee sting. And now today I just finished my run up the hill through the forest once again, with my dogs, and lo and behold picked up another hitchhiker! I currently keep 25 birdfeeders going in our yard as well as a dozen bird houses. I just watched a gang of stellar jays move in and escort a sharp shinned hawk out of the area so that they and all the finches and sparrows and Junko‘s and woodpeckers and chickadees and spotted towees could go back to feeding.
