Christmas box pre-orders go live TONIGHT! Limited number of orders, free gift with every box (hint: it gives your soap a home). Customize your boxes by choosing your soap types & ornament set (5 per set; or swap for 2 customs!). HOME boxes will also be able to swap their ornament sets for hand burned coasters, instead.
A flashback to 2019 Christmas items. This year’s line is dropping SOON. What do you think should make a comeback? Expect many more home items! But, hey! What do you think we should add this year? I (K) think Matt’s spoons should make an appearance. Who’s with me?
Trimming down soaps and staging them to photograph. Christmas prep is in FULL swing again
Its a busy day for the bees as they prepare for winter.
Rainbow boxes of tomatoes are going on the table tonight! Don’t forget to stop by for our by-donation market stand tonight (5-6). All proceeds go to local food banks! We’ll also have salad greens, edible flowers, carrots (!!!), beets and more.
Hey everyone! We are taking a week off from markets while our gardens ripen a few more crops. See below for a teaser of what is to come in the next few weeks! We will resume markets at the beginning of September! In the meantime, check out the Cole Harbour Heritage farmer's market (Wednesdays) or the Alderney Landing Farmer's market (Saturdays) for your fresh and local produce! ... See you next month!
I wonder what vendor they could be talking about Come find us tomorrow at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum’s market!
Here are some pictures of our chickens! They have been quite entertaining so far and Liam loves them. Sadly, we lost two this afternoon as we learned that the run was not as secure as we thought. It is frustrating to lose animals or crops but that is the circle of life. We need to remember that we are part of a cyclic system that generously provides but sometimes takes away. And this was one of the takes away occasions.... We still have five more hens and the flock will continue to grow in the coming months.
The weekly produce details are in the event description, as always, but I wanted to give these guys a little highlight. These beautiful Bloody Mary Nasturtiums (first photo) are one of the varieties of edible flowers that meet our market table weekly. They’re perfect for topping a cake, salad.. or maybe even a proper Bloody Mary? We’ll let you decide The last (third) photo features out snap peas. Both green & purple (sugar snap peas & sugar magnolia snap peas) have also be...en some of our weekly stars. They are definitely a house favorite and have become our toddler’s most requested snack! What will you be picking up today?
We’ve been a little quiet on instagram lately - the gardens don’t stop for the #gram. Now that we are getting consistent weekly harvests we have begun our Thursday Night Market Stands. We set up on our front lawn with various garden treasures. Although we have a suggested price list, ultimately our stand is based on a give what you can, take what you need philosophy. Proceeds will then be donated to our local food banks! Here are some photos from last week. Join us tonigh...t and get your hands on more salad greens, spinach, snap peas, basil, dill, edible flowers, etc. We’ve also made a Facebook page to host the events to keep you all in-the-know if cancelled weeks/weekly items/give you reminders! No carrots this week - although we got the message that they’ll be well loved in future weeks by how fast they went @ Colby Village, Nova Scotia
