Too often we find ourselves on a feed scrolling and liking posts. It’s great that we are sharing with one another but, with a lack of intention, this action is just a waste of time. It’s essential to have set boundaries as you interact online. Social media is undoubtedly a form of entertainment, but it also provides an opportunity to connect. To be intentional online, there are a few things you can begin integrating. ... 1. Set times to check your socials - make it part of your schedule, don’t just scroll for 20 minutes randomly throughout the day. 2. Read captions - scrolling and liking posts without reading what the creator has to say shows a lack of care and concern. You’re less likely to have any real interaction because without reading, what do you have to contribute...not much. 3. Don’t just like, comment - feedback is so important, if you have something to say, say it. Be kind, of course, and as the old rule states, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything. What you say has meaning and power, even if you can’t directly see its impact.

If you aren’t building your connections online right now, you’re missing out big time. Online presence is so valuable, so don’t miss your opportunity. Don’t worry, it will never replace face - to - face connection, but it can enhance it. I'm not encouraging you to send friend requests to hundreds of strangers. Instead, research, join groups, and add value to a few people each day.

Social Media is about sharing your story. Sharing your story builds relationships and that is what Social Media is all about. Studies show that consumers buy from those they like, know, and trust. #shareyourstory #socialmediamanagement #knowyourcustomer
