In this weeks Northern Heat Report we had to honor to talk with Lorio Roy. On Nov 27th, 2020 Lorio was entered into the Order of Canada for his ongoing commitment to improving post-secondary education and for his dedication to the Acadian community. In this weeks Northern Heat Report we had a chance to talk to Samuel Daigle representing the Chaleur Green Trail group. UNI held a mega competition where 5 prizes of up to $50,000 were awarded to community projects for positive change and greater well-being in New Brunswick communities. In addition Finalists were also eligible for one of 10 second-place prizes of up to $5,000. Chaleur Green Trails entered and one a second place prize in the competition so they could get ...funds to connect Beresford and Bathurst by a bicycle and pedestrian trail. Supported by the municipalities involved and strong revenue from donations and other fundraising efforts, this project promises to enhance quality of life throughout the region while also promoting the well-being of all residents. Last night, Thursday Oct 22nd, the Chaleur Chamber of Commerce Hosted the 22nd annual Business Excellence Awards Gala. 6 entrepreneurs of the Chaleur Region were recognized at this awards ceremony. 2 months ago Aiden started to come to work with Bob on Friday mornings. Today they celebrated that with a picnic at Coronation park. Bob still goes and picks him up in the morning but their mode of transportation has changed.
