A great and informative program... and not just because we are involved ;)
As Churchill said: don’t waste a good crisis. And we haven’t! The Ross Firm is excited to announce we have implemented a defined benefit employee pension plan and a 4 day work week!!! All 4 offices are open Monday-Friday 8-5 with each member of the team off one day during the week. ... You can count on the same prompt professional service as always; just with a happier, more rested and engaged team.
The amazing Peter Meades and the County Cleanup! Running every road in Huron (2900km) picking up after himself (any everyone else) as he goes. The Ross Firm is the Uber proud Community Partner.
We are beyond proud to be the Community Partner on this amazing project. The indomitable Pete Meades is running ALL the roads of Huron County (every kilometer of them) whilst removing roadside garbage. We love where we live and work.

Kind words from a fantastic and lifesaving organization.
Businesses struggle or thrive based on the ability to understand not only their own financial structure but those external factors that impact it. Join us for a conversation on how to track and respond to the internal and external forces that can help or hinder financial wellbeing.
The impacts of COVID-19 are massive. The construction industry has been incredibly impacted. Reduction of the services you can offer, safe practices during work, supply chain disruption. The one thing you don’t need unreasonable delays in getting paid. Contracts October 1, 2019 and forward: Your clients are still required to pay promptly, or give notice of non-payment. If they don’t, there is a quick and publicly funded Adjudication process. We can help you navigate the ...process, craft and focus your materials and help to ensure the best possible outcome. It is a remote, largely paper based process so our involvement is limited and can help get you paid quickly. Contracts Prior to October 1, 2019: While no right to quick adjudication for these contracts exist, a customer is still required to pay for the work you’ve done for them and mechanisms exist to help ensure they do. I’m either case, your lien rights remain and existing timelines continue to apply. Lawsuits and negotiated outcomes can and should still occur. You’ve done the work, you ought to get paid and we can help. If you’ve done your part, but your customer is refusing to honour their obligations, contact us. Much of the time a letter does the trick, but where that doesn’t get you the results you deserve, we can help move your claim forward and get you paid. We are a completely remote based practice. We have user friendly video conferencing and file sharing platforms and know how to help you use them. Contact us at [email protected] or visit our site at www.rossfirm.com.
COVID-19 has changed the way we work, and in some instances, who is working. The Ross Firm has put together a brief advice consultation to clarify the do’s & don’ts and to provide directed strategic legal advice in this new COVID-19 employment world. With our focused intake we can schedule you for a video meeting to receive the legal advice you need quickly and at a significantly reduced rate (as little as $250.00).... Do you want to understand your rights? Do you want to be free of the uncertainty and worry that comes with not knowing what to do?. Do you want to learn about the benefits offered by the government to keep people employed and to keep businesses viable during the COVID-19 crisis? Employees/Employers - You've got questions. We've got answers.
Employment law matters are complex. Even more so with new laws directed at managing COVID-19 thrown into the mix. The Ross Firm can help you navigate these uncertain times. For example: Can an employer lay off employees or reduce their hours of work? ... If the employer has no work because of the COVID-19 pandemic, what are the rules around termination? If childcare responsibilities fall upon an employee due to COVID-19 circumstances, what are the rights and obligations of the employer and the employee? Can an employee refuse to come to work due to COVID-19 concerns? How does the emergency support package for employees work? How does the payroll subsidy for employers work? The Ross Firm has put together a brief advice consultation to clarify the do’s & don’ts and to provide directed strategic legal advice in this new COVID-19 employment world. These are uncertain and almost unprecedented times. Everyone is facing unique challenges. Despite the current reality, one thing remains constant: Life goes on. The demands and joys of family remain. The demands and joys of business remain. Personal struggles and triumphs continue to happen. While the systems we normally engage in every day have contracted or in some instances stopped; we must go on....Continue reading
Considering the COVID19 concerns and recommendations from Health Canada and Public Health Ontario, for the near term, all meetings that do not require in person attendance at one of our offices will be held remotely. We ask that you only attend with a scheduled appointment. As we have made significant investments in a paperless practice and remote meeting technology, we are positioned to assist you in continuing your work with our firm in an easy and effective manner. For ...us, despite the cause being novel, the use of remote meeting technology, is just another day at, or more aptly, out of the office. For anyone with a smartphone, tablet or camera enabled computer we offer our Zoom video conferencing platform. It’s an incredibly easy to use tool that makes video conferencing a breeze. This is our preferred method of remote meeting platforms. Using Zoom, we can easily facilitate case meetings and document signings from the comfort of your home. In the event you do not have a device capable of engaging Zoom, we still have phones and are happy to use them. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unique times.
