DEADLINE: Friday, July 17th, 2020 COORDINATED BY: Liz Leckie- IG Wealth Management, Kit's little Kitchen and Melissa Therrien Halton Women’s Place just updated their list of URGENTLY needed items, let’s get together and help meet their needs by filling Melissa Therrien’s truck as many times possible Halton Women's Place is the unsung hero for women and children in crisis in our community . They provide crisis services for physically, emotionally, financially and sexually abused women and their dependent children and is dedicated to ending violence against women and their children . With the added mental, emotional, and financial stress of COVID-19 and the quarantine, Halton Women’s Place has increased demand from women and children in our region who desperately need their support, however, their corporate support has decreased during this time. Many of the items listed are for children, imagine needing to leave your situation so badly that you have to flee with your kids and can’t even supply them with a few changes of clothes for the coming days . Great donations include NWT summer clothing or shoes and entertainment items for children or women’s clothing! If you prefer to give a monetary donation - we can get bulk discounts for some of the high demand items as well through some awesome local shops like Connie Ward of The Royal Academy of Arts & Education and @shari white of G-Force Junior Lizzie Leckie has already managed to secure a significant contribution from IG Wealth Management that will get us A LOT of desperately needed consumable items as well!
