Lost Soles Gone Too Soon - Frontiers by the nation-wide group "Moms Stop the Harm" (@momsstoptheharm ), teams of volunteers used purple ribbons to tie 600 pairs of shoes to the railing of the Burrard Bridge on Sunday morning, in preparation for International Overdose Awareness Day. The Run Inn Community donates over 300 pairs of shoes to this honorable cause. Each pair of shoes had a small note attached to them, highlighting the thousands of British Columbians who have died f...rom overdose since a public health emergency was declared in 2016. Each pair of shoes serves as a token item where people can address, acknowledge and remember each name and the individual that has passed on. Each "token" shoe can be easily disregarded and overlooked but brought together is viewable as a grand tribute beckoning for attention from people everywhere. In the same fashion, for Canadians to successfully vanquish our overdose crisis, lone individual are not able to prevent the countless overdosesay but it is our duty to band together to help those in need and make a difference.
