For the most part paranormal investigation is first and foremost a personal venture. Not to bring evidence forward for the masses but to discover something about life after death for yourself. It was on this great adventure that I personally discovered something that changed my open but skeptical mind forever. A story that I wish to share with you. It has everything to do with my parents, my father Charles returned home after the war, serving over seas with the Queen’s Own R...ifles of Canada and met my would-be mother Lee, they dated and were wed, they raise five sons and led productive lives until 1990 when my father passed from cancer. My mother in passing mentioned that she felt his presents still in their home, she also mentioned that she felt it a comfort that he was there. At the time I was unsure if her feelings were because this was there home and she missed him and believed him to be there for that comfort and secure feeling or if his spirit was in fact there? I left the situation alone until some years later when I was working with a good medium along with my brother Paul that this topic came up again. We decided that we would take a look an find out if the spirit of my father had returned to the family home. I asked my mother if I could do some spirit communication in the house while she was out for the evening and she agreed. The medium, Paul and I settled in the basement around an old table and I turned on my voice recorder. The medium said he made contact with two spirits in the house, both male, one in his teens and the other older. The teen was related to Paul and I, the man was not. After some time, the medium felt that another male arrived and believed it was in-deed our father. I asked for a sign that it was him and waited. The medium looked at me and said he gave you a sign, however I didn’t recognize any, not until I played back the recording. It was a single word, the recording was a class A, EVP. The voice I was sure was my fathers, Paul was convinced as well, but none of us knew the meaning of the message, we were perplexed. Later that evening my mother arrived home and asked how it went. I explained what we did and that I had a recoding of what I thought might be dad’s voice saying something Paul and I could not understand. She asked to hear it and I was hesitant, but then played it for her. Immediately she burst into tears, and quietly said, that’s him. After an emotional few minutes I asked what the word meant, she looked at us and said, that was his nickname for me when we were dating. It was in that moment that I saw the study of life after death and our continued existence beyond the physical in a completely different light. Any doubt that I had was gone for me and I know for my brother as well. I do not share this story with you to convince you that life after death exists, but rather to inspire you to go out and discover your own story. See more
