Rahema & Meron are two of our kids. It's been so amazing to see them grow each year. When I first met Meron her mother had recently left her with her aunt. After that day, Meron never saw her again. She was so shy and seemed so sad. Three years later she is now at the top her class and is showing us so much love! The progress in these kids makes everything worth it. Sometimes the work is hard and we encounter so much heartache. But the best part is that we can actually bring hope! @thesetfreeproject is something I started for this exact reason.

"From the day I saw the picture of of my child's sponsor, my hope was revived! I knew we weren't alone anymore." Aylech, 25. She has 2 kids in our program. She is also going to join our women's program! She will receive basic business training and the supplies to start working. We have already trained 10 of the mothers of our kids. This year we will add 5 more. The women are all become friends and creating a community. Our social worker meets with them twice a month. They ...are even saving money! One woman can be trained in income generating activities for about $300. With that they get training, and the supplies they need to start working. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. But learning life skills and family skills helps to break the cycle of broken families. Many of our kids are growing up without fathers, some have been abandoned by both parents. We are working to increasing the psychological support that we provide so our kids understand what is RIGHT instead of modeling what they are shown.
