COUNTERFEIT CASH CIRCULATING IN OCEANSIDE: The Oceanside RCMP have issued a warning to all businesses in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area about counterfeit bi...lls. Police have received four calls this month that involve the use or attempted use of counterfeit currency. Denominations accounted for include a $100 Canadian bill, a last generation $20 Canadian bill, a $5 Canadian bill and a $100 US bill. Cpl Jess Foreman with the Oceanside detachment said police are asking anyone who comes across a counterfeit bill to please call the RCMP so that a file can be created, the bill examined and entered into the police database, and so police can respond in a timely manner.

Make yourself look as large as possible and back away slowly, keeping the cougar in view, and allowing a clear exit for the cougar. Pick up children and small pets immediately. ITEM: A cougar was sighted at approximately 11am on the field of Kwalicum Secondary School.
