We've been helping give this East Van landmark a facelift. The Hamilton on Powell street is almost finished being restored to it's former glory!

Starting the new year off right with a little exterior wood finishing in the dead of winter! Luckily, it only requires a couple of torches. These beams will be stunning when complete! Jet black with a three dimensional wood grain and beautiful sheen. Protected against weather and insects for up to 80 years with no maintenance! Photos to come...

Sometimes we get very lucky with a daring client who wants to try something awesome. Here we are doing a sample of a Japanese wood finishing technique where we scorch wood, which gives it a beautiful sheen and colour while completely preserving the wood! It also brings out the wood grain to give it a 3 dimensional profile.
